So to kick start things... *deep breath*...

We almost made it to the start of a Charlie Brooker series without a mention on the forum. almost. And you had to go and break the duck. I'm kidding, Brooker's a funny guy. I'll give it a look, even if it is on Channel 4.

Last series was pretty weak overall.
I hope Victoria Coren appears, I would do stuff to her. Sick stuff. Stuff that gets you put away.

Everyone should read Dawn Of The Dumb.

Dawn of the Dumb and Screenburn are vital. Bryce doesn;t actually know anything about Charlie Brooker, he just instinctively likes people more miserable than him as they're stealing his spotlight.

On the plus side, it spawned Nathan Barley.

That America's Next Top Model show is the most flabbergastingly awful show I've ever seen.
The scene when that bitch is yelling at that poor girl because she isn't crying? I was genuinely appalled. Evil, twisted stuff. That's the real problem; not screen violence. Pure human cruelty, aired at primetime for all to see. Shows based around exploitation and hate, turning the contestants against each other for the viewer's entertainment. Makes me sick.

Um... I have to say I have no love for You Have Been Watching. I don't think Brooker is a good panel show host, so it comes off more like Screenwipe with Some Guests, But Not as Good. I'd love to see more Gameswipe, though. That was great, even if there wasnt enough SEGA in it!! I love his columns and the book compliations. I havent read The Hell of it All yet, though.

So I just sat down and watched You Have Been Watching. Thought it was pretty good actually. Especially when taking the piss out of the 1000 ways to die show. Looking forward to it next week actually, think I might sit and watch Ch4's 'alternative' election night for the evening. Just the sort of cynicism I'm content with.

Charlie Brooker is on tonight at 9 with Jimmy Carr and David Mitchell for an Alternative Election Night on Channel 4. PromoHonestly can't tell if it'll be any good but we'll see soon enough I guess.

Alternative Election Night was alright. That Come Dine With Me [censored] dragged on for ages when no one [censored]ing cared and that annoyed me. Also, too much screen time for Carr and Mitchell without enough Brooker.
Still, Jimmy Carr said a lot of funny [censored], Robert Webb made me piss myself several times and I thought Rich Hall's speech was pretty good.

I recently noticed Brooker's [censored] when he's not following a script, so I didn't bother with election night.

Come Dine With Me was a bit painful. Carr and Mitchell were a bit too scripted, and it felt that way. Otherwise, was pretty golden. Also, best quote of the night was after the interview with Brian Cox: "Our own walking, talking, Stephen Hawking!"

I recently noticed Brooker's [censored] when he's not following a script, so I didn't bother with election night. D: I heard he really wasn't in it much - but yeah, I couldn't watch it here. 4OD didn't seem to work even with a VPN tunnel. Boo. Instead I watched Jeremy Vine and his Amazing Animated Flying Paving Stones. Woop-de-do.[/i]
