Sonic the comic original art work I am looking for original sonic the comic art, featuring Grimer. Does anyone know where I can buy this? Or is anyone willing to sell it

Finding original STC artwork is very rare (I don't recall ever seeing anyone selling it), so your best bet is to perhaps try and contact the original artists yourself? I know Nigel Dobbyn has sold a lot of his pages at Summer of Sonic, but I imagine most people would have bought his Knuckles pages, rather than those with Grimer. Why Grimer, anyway?

Thanks for the info Grimer was my favourite character in sonic the comic, I found him very interesting, because he could have easily operated independently from Robotnick, (and did on a few occasions) but he choose to stick by him. Also my favourite panel in sonic the comic is this one: media.sonicscanf.org/comics/sonic-the-comic/173/03.jpgLooking at Grimer's eyes in that panel really makes me sympathise with the character

Those pages are five times more expensive than Nigel Dobbyn's :S

I sent an email to Rich Elson this morning about some of his pages, to which he said that he's been inundated with requests (some of which have been quite pushy, or just plain rude). He really is a lovely chap, and I know people here wouldn't say anything rude to him, but he has asked me to pass on that he is very busy, and that he may not always be able to keep everyone happy. To quote, "I don't want to come across as a miserable git but I have to prioritise my regular work." Can't say fairer than that. Regarding Mick's work... There are one or two that have some nice poses, but I could take them or leave them. I couldn't pay £100 for them. :/f

Those pages are five times more expensive than Nigel Dobbyn's :S Dobbyn practically gives his work away though, I mean Nigel is a great artist, and really really nice guy, and super supportive of young artists and STC-O. I do however think he is maybe too kind when he only charges fan's £20 for work, and spends all of Sumer of Sonic giving away free sketches. I mean when you consider that Rich Elson's page went for £172 it becomes clear Dobbyn is selling himself short. Also while Mick's STC work isn't always greatly loved inside the fandom, Mick is a very famous artist and original art of his is probably worth to many people £100.

With the greatest respect to Mick McMahon, and without wanting to open that old debate again, £100 for his Sonic work is a bit steep. £100 for his Judge Dredd work would be totally understandable.
That said, I would love to own some Bravehog art just as a personal pleasure.

I was quite close to an original piece of artwork featuring Grimer, what I did not anticipate however, was that somebody was willing to pay higher than £300.00! Oh well maybe next time, ill have more luck

I remember years ago at the meet up in Birmingham where Kitching, Elson and Dobbyn brought a load of the original artwork to show us. And we bought it all off of them for a tenner per picture.
I still have mine of Super Sonic hanging on my wall.
Seriously, these guys are too generous.

So we gave them the idea? Haha.
Also I say why not! There's definitely a market for it, even if STC has become a niche.

it's not going to be cheap now you've just announced it on the forum i'm guessing we could be seeing totals of £300 again when bidding starts, which is why I'll never own any of Elsons art but glad you managed to get what you were looking for I remember years ago at the meet up in Birmingham where Kitching, Elson and Dobbyn brought a load of the original artwork to show us. At least for Elson it's good that these works are going for a fair amount, and having seen how many of these are going to dedicated STC fans and collectors it's good to see these pieces are going to good homes.

Indeed, and I can't really complain as I do have some absolutely beautiful pages from Mr Dobbyn and a couple of Mr Yardley Choice works and a couple of sketches from Mr Kitching

Ah that's great, I was actually the winner of Lew's unpublished page too that he had on there at the same time as the script you won

Man, you guys are DEDICATED! I was thinking of competing for Lew's script myself but I decided against it as I'm not super passionate about this kind of thing. Awesome stuff, though! Glad you both got what you wanted.
