Is Zor some sort of critique on modern day sonic fans do we think? ZZZzzz...

...Nobody's going to crack a Zonic the Zone Cop gag? Alright.
This looks really really fun and I can't think of much to complain about.

Will the deadly six die, be redeemed, become part of Sonic's Rogues Gallery, will they be subject to some other fate (petrification, jail, being sealed in anoer dimension, etc)?

I think once you beat one of them, they become Sonic's alley. I like Zeena the best.

No.
What happens is that when Sonic defeats them, Eggman turns on Sonic and uses the power of the 6 to fight Sonic.

I certainly hope they don't become allies, that would be ridiculous. They're already shoving all the -actually liked- characters' opportunities for gameplay and story in favour of wisp power ups.
Sega shouldn't make new characters until they actually start using the ones they already own.

Is it just me or are the Deadly Six based on the Piraka?

I have to be honest, this is definitely the one to watch for me this year. Every time I see a screenshot I'm intrigued anew; I haven't felt this willing to indulge myself in a game's release in years. So I figure I'd better stop lest I spoil something good.
(But before I do: the Fire Shield is back to complement the Lightning Shield. I doubt we'll see the Bubble Shield unless there's an Aquarium Park deal going on, but I'm hoping we'll see different, new kinds of Shields instead. I also doubt they'll give Sonic the same powers he did in Sonic 3, but that's no biggie considering the homing attack and double-jump are a part of his repertoire already.)

I'm so gonna be pumped when the release date of this game draws nearer. But first off, I'll be purchasing a Wii U, second, THIS GAME.

I'm loving the way Sonic Lost World is shaping up. It's a mighty fine game so far.

Maybe the Deadly Six are caricatures of famous Sonic haters?
Zavok: GameInformer (He's the leader and the only one that looks and sounds like a threat) Zazz: Sonic 1 (his craziness) Zeena: Hoggys2much (she looks like something hoggy would favorite on Deviantart) Zor: Gligar13Vids (his goth look reflects Gligar13vid's desire for mature games) Zomom: Konata1000 (by physical appearance alone) Zik: Yahtzee

Did anyone here manage to get a play of it at Summer of SOnic last weekend? I didn't have the time to queue up as I was helping out on the stand, but wondered if anyone got hands on with it?

That cutscene left me staring in awe. We haven't seen anything this epic since Unleashed.

Did anyone here manage to get a play of it at Summer of SOnic last weekend? I didn't have the time to queue up as I was helping out on the stand, but wondered if anyone got hands on with it? Apparently no one else? I got a quick go, they were particularly stingy with letting people on it. There was no tutorial, which considering the game has an entirely new control scheme to ANY previous 3D Sonic outing surprised me as the Generations and Colours demos at past SOS had some kind of pointers even though the controls were relatively unchanged from Sonic Adventure/Unleashed. I played through the first level, while visually quite striking a little jarring, definitely looks better in motion. Sonic is slow, I didn't figure out how to make him run until I almost completed the level, which frustrated me no end. It'll be great for more platformery aspects of the game, though I didn't really see anything resembling that in this stage rendering it a little useless. Hopefully it'll get used more in the rest of the game. Overall it felt a bit buggy, but with a lot of promise. I'm definitely intrigued and quite excited to see the game completed, but right now I'm planning on reading the reviews first before buying a Wii U. It's definitely a "hmmmm...." kinda game right now for me.
