Did anyone actually manage to read this? It was like an extra issue of STC, only it was a bit more expensive I think. I never managed to find them, just wondered what they were like. We're talking quite early on in the days of STC if I remember correctly.

They were basically posters with features or comics on the back of them. #3 (a Sonic story), #5 (a Super Sonic story with art by Richard Elson), #6 (a Sonic and Amy story) and #9 (Sonic and Tails - the first STC work of Nigel Dobbyn!) were Sonic stories and reprinted in the 1995 Sonic Holiday Special. #1 was a feature on Sonic animation, #2 was a feature on how to beat Dr Robotnik in Sonic Chaos. #4 featured a Shinobi story while #7 featured a Streets of Rage story. #8 was a Sonic and Knuckles story that was never reprinted at all (which to me is a shame because I never got it).
Nigel Kitching wrote #3 and #8; the other Sonic stories were written by Lew Stringer. None of them had any ramifications on continuity (and I had serious trouble trying to work out when #5 took place)...

Oh I remeber the 1995 special, those were good ones. My favourite special had to be knuckles though, can't remeber what year that was from though.

I thought the only specials worth the money were the 1994 Summer Special (featuring the first ever Knuckles story) and the 1996 Holiday Special (featuring a great Kitching/Dobbyn Sonic story). The stories in the Knuckles Knock-Out Special were reprinted in the last few issues of print STC, but weren't particularly up to scratch and featured some particularly dull artwork by Mike White. Totally inconsequential, too.

i was thinking about these earlier, I missed a few issues, I was upset and hoped they'd do back issues but they never did. if anyone could scan them i'd certainly be greatful. the knuckles special was cool, but I think it was reprinted in the repeat issues, or some stories definatley were

I only have the first Summer Special (and it's pretty beat-up to say the least) But I never managed to get hold of the Knuckles Knockout Special.
Well I'm glad someone remembers it!

OMG!!! Ive just found 2 Sonic the Poster Mags! each with its own unique story in!!! 1 was Sonic in OOZ with a story about this monkey guy, the other was a huge pic of super sonic, with a story about Sonic in OOZ (no, not that one, a different one!) and guess what! HE GOES SUPER just like the other story, but its different!!
ill try real hard to get some scans but the only scanner I have is at uni so it will be very difficult.!

I remeber them. I have just one of them (that was all that my grubby little hands could afford). It was #9. I'm sure of it.
It was great though. It had a Sonic fic where Sonic and Tails are fighting Troopers in a water zone. Sonic gets trapped underwater and has to fight Badniks, while Tails (I think for the first time) saves the day without Sonic. It was drawn by Nigel Dobbyn (Ma Favorite).
This is calling all you Sonic Boomers out there. I want, and need, scans of all these great poster mags. #1, #3, #5, #6 and deffinately #8 (which I never even saw)
The stories in the Knuckles Knock-Out Special I never even so much as sniffed. It was advertised, and then that was it. I never saw the thing. Scans of this would be helpful as if I'm collecting, I might as well collect the whole set.
That's my request done. Phew. Now what to do....

If that's #3 then I'd like to see the cover. I think it's one of Elson's and I don't think I've ever seen it in full (presumably the poster picture is also featured on the cover?)

Oh. Sorry about that then. While I'm here, can you read my post earlier, and tell me if you can help me with attaining any of the scans mentioned.

Sorry, I don't deal in scans (beyond the cover anyway); they infringe on creative rights
