I'm currently reading Game On. A series of essays about the history and culture of video games. It's a really good book. No, it really isn't. It's factually innacurate and basically cr ap. Want a good read on the subject, try Trigger HappySupercadeGame Over

Homestar Runner Gets Something Stuck in his Craw... ;D sorreee.. I joke. atm my head is buried in various "Learn to Drive" books. Did you know you can get fined for cycling on the path?! Back in the days when I cycled, I never used the road coz I was so slow, I mustve been dangerous! ...buut the other day I picked up the next two in the Simpsons character books: Ralph Wiggum and Comic Book Guy. Hardly literary excellence but entertaining nonetheless. My fave Simpsons book is "Barts Guide to Life", which my Mum gave me for passing my GCSE exams! Lost it tho..

Shakespear isn't funny in the slightest. Lies. I'm on a bit of a short story bender at the moment, I just finished a Poe collection and have started a collection of Dickens ghost stories. The last proper book I read was Yann Martel's Life of Pi, which is utterly superb. I highly recommend it.

LIES AND TRICKERY!? But anyway. Shakespear's funniest moments are his "tragedies". Or maybe I'm just an ill-homoured, tired, unpatriotic uncultured yob with no loyalty to my country's (arguably) greatest literary genius of all time.

I got the Serenity role playing game rule book yesterday, although I'm not likely going to play the game myself, the book has lots of interesting background information of the Firefly and Serenity universe.

I've been meaning to check out the Dark Tower for a while. I take it it's worth it?
Last book I finished was Memoirs of a Geisha. Interesting stuff, with a superlative narrative voice - I had to keep checking it was actually written by a thirtysomething American man. The ending seemed a bit too neat for me though.

I've been meaning to check out the Dark Tower for a while. I take it it's worth it? I honestly wouldn't know to to describe it to you wthout going on and on and on AND ON. But take a look at the first book, Gunslinger. If you like it- It gets much better If you dont like it- It gets much better! If you're not sure what to think of it- IT GETS BETTER! Well. Read Gunslinger, and the second book "Drawing Of The Three" if you aint keen on it by that point, then drop it. (See? I'm going on and on) Ace characters, brilliant imagery, ace quotes, some chilling stuff, some awesome action stuff, and Jonny Cash references.

One of the more unsettling lines from Gunslinger
Roland: (After hypnotising Jake so he can learn how he died) (Jake is an 11 year old, who was pushed in front of a moving car than ran him over) Jake...do you hear me Jake: Yes Roland: Do you want to forget or remember this, when you wake up? Jake: Forget. When the blood came out of my mouth, I could taste my own [censored]. (One of the tyres crushed his groin/waist)

I miss the days when kerrang was a solid alternative music magazine. Now it's a commercialised mainstream fashion magazine. However- Corey Taylor is the bees knees.
(And as for my contempt for magazines- The only ones I will read are ZT [which I am subscribed to] and once in a blue moon- Terrorizer. But I only bought that for the first exclusive interview with Emperor since they reformed, and the poster)
