I have the same thing, only with the 3D games. I appreciate from a distance, but they're not really for me (despite repeatedly trying!). 2D is where it's at, even if I've kinda given up hope that they'll ever come close to Link's Awakening, or even A Link To The Past.

actually I think Nintendo games are horrible! Bit of a broad statement. Why?

Idon't know mabe because all Nintendo games are all the same old same! I mean look at pokemon except for Mistery dungeon and Rush and Link they are ALL the same (except for the pokemons that change) and Mario is quite the same since they invented him.....In a modern game I even remembered an old seacret road from a 1999 game....Link is actually the best character but still doesn't totally convince me....

"Broad" is about right. 'Nintendo games' covers almost every big console genre, to hate all of them is... well, it's either a symptom of being a purely PC gamer (though even then Pikmin is the most interesting RTS of the last decade), or a Nintendo-hating fanboy/girl.
Also, this is released tomorrow, right? Not that I'll be getting it before X-Mas (best Christmas game this year), but still.

You're not really giving any evidence, as your statement of them all the same could be said for any long running franchise if you want to be unspecific enough. Gameplay wise, Nintendo games have certainly evolved from their roots- Super Mario Bros 1 certainly isn't Mario Galaxy, let alone many of the varying genres Mario games have entered.

well, maby Mario is a little more alternative but Pokemon games are trully all Alike: you get your first pokemon, you start your travels, you defite the gim's leeders and the evil team of the game. You go the league and become champion you catch the legendary pokemon and then it's up to you if you want to actually catch them all!

My Spirit Tracks arrived this afternoon, typically, just before I had to get to work, so I'm only just now opening it. The Special Edition box is huge, and I couldn't help but be amused by the addition of a "Basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy this game" label on the game box. Stating the obvious much?
Edit: And is it me, or does the old spirit woman look like an old main character?

I couldn't help but be amused by the addition of a "Basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy this game" label on the game box. Stating the obvious much? Not at all. Plenty of young kids play games - and plenty of Nintendo games require no reading - NWMB, Mario Kart, that kinda thing can be picked up with no reading ability at all.

The tin is big, and they are going a bit too far on the obvious there, Arch. And what old spirit woman reminescent of a main character are you talking about?

If you look at Anjean's: hair and her wink, she looks like an older Tetra. It sort of hints to it in the game too, well, where I'm upto anyway. Not at all. Plenty of young kids play games - and plenty of Nintendo games require no reading - NWMB, Mario Kart, that kinda thing can be picked up with no reading ability at all. Yeah, I get that, it made me smile is all.

One of the best things about Nintendo's continued presence in the industry is their ability to get kids into games from a young age - and into good games. Not just games they'll play because they have their favourite movie characters in.

My copy is now wrapped for Xmas. 2 more weeks and I'll be able to enjoy it. The basic reading ability on the game box made me laugh a little too.

I've seen 'basic reading etc' loads of times. The last game I got (Pokemon Ranger) said it, which makes sense, since its non-stop reading.
Also, you should have taken the game out of the box and wrapped up the box.

Have a new Skyward Sword trailer, why not. Lookin' pretty nice.
I guess I should get back into Twilight Princess before this comes out. God damn that game is underwhelming...

Ocarina of Time 3D will have a boss rush modeAlso the Master Quest remix as an option, but that's old news. Just mentioning in case anyone missed it. Oh, and that post up yonder where I say I'm going to get back into Twilight Princess? Tried, gave up, sold the game. So...yeah.

That's a pity - I genuinely found TP to be a much more enjoyable game the second time around. I think it's still one of the weakest main series Zeldas, but once you get past the initial disappointment, it's still a rather solid game in general.
As for Boss Rush in OOT3D - I probably won't be too bothered with it, but it's great to see some new touches being added regardless. Honestly, just the prospect of playing an updated OOT on the move is enough to sell the game to me.

My problem with TP is that despite having played through it and then again but in pockets, I can't actually explain what happens. Probably just me, but the game feels like it ambles through and things just happen rather than being built up to.
I'm finding it hard to get across what I actually mean, but I could riff off the stories of all the other Zelda games with no worries but this one, I can't seem to do that.

So, that trailer I posted further up the page has a rather nifty secret if you play it backwards. Take it away, Youtube:
