I cant believe I'm buying a DS just for this game. I hope its worth it. Oh, it is. It is. I usually don't play on my DS that much unless I'm going on a long car ride, or something, but I'm 13 hours in, and it's flown by. I'm loving Diamond. Also, what's the deal with the Eternia Chateau? There's this butler that disappears, and I can't find out what the purpose of him is.

The Eterna Chataux is a nice place to catch ghosties really. It's also the only place you can catch Rotom after you get the National Dex. To begin with you can only catch Gastly, but once you beat the Elite 4, you can stick any of the GBA games into the GBA slot of the DS, go back, and catch Haunter and Gengar in the wild too. (Yes, Gengar - though you can only find it in the room with eyes on the wall).

So the disappearing butler is nothing?

I'm a slow trainer but I'm enjoying the game thus far. Like the new twists in Gym battles though it's somewhat annoying when the Gym leaders last Pokemon is now always some kind of annoying Pokemon with a secondary type making it hard to beat with the traditional weaknesses.
Liking the internet/current society type references though, "oh snap" and so on XD. Plus I'm glad to see so far it's not just generic battles all the time, Eterna Forest surprised me and It's good to see double battles coming into play more, rather than just being a lousy gimmick like it was in Ruby and Sapphire.
Also new berry grow system ftw, Like the fact you get more berries if you really look after the plants.

So the disappearing butler is nothing? Just a ghost. It's a haunted mansion. ^^ Incidentally, one of the localisers is a member of Something Awful's forums. Hence the abundance of Net memes.

The game was so not ever about really catching them all. I mean, I got all 151 the first time, but that wasn't why I played it. Anyway, I am officially really jealous of you all and bet that when it comes out in June, I'll be the only one here playing it anew.

Surely there's one shop that sells it? Most high street stores won't sell it; they only sell PAL games, (bar the odd one or two traded in games). It's the smaller shops you want to look in.

Dunno where. Wasn't there a thread for this kinda thing? But yeah, I don't know where any local importing stores can be found, hrm.

www.cdwow.comIts a legitimate, trustworthy site, and the game costs £20.50 with free delivery. Now I just need to decide which version.

Well yeah, but I usually go for the redder option. Its a tradition. Plus I think the legendry pokemon looks better. I dunno tho, I'll have a think.

The Diamond version is technically the Red version stand-in this time, though... And also I want to steal your pokemans.

The Diamond version is technically the Red version stand-in this time, though... Are you being sarcastic and lying like yourself. I can never tell with you Pom. Edit: I chose Pearl in the end. I think Palika looks better and more dragon-like, and apprently, word on the street is that he has better stats.

Differences between Diamond and PearlScyther, Scizor, Tyranitar, Aggron, and Rampardos all get my vote in Diamond, but I'm upset over missing out on Salamence in Pearl (but I can port it over from my GBA games, so it really doesn't matter).

Baring in mind that the games are online and thus every Pokemon you cannot get in one version is just a friend code away.

I'm gonna be really dense here, but how do you go about meeting and trading online? I've never taken it the DS over Wi-Fi, and have no idea how it goes.

You do it in-game. Go to the Pokemon Centre, head to the basement and talk to the WiFi club people there. Just remember to use the Pal Pad you get from going down there the first time to add people's friend codes and get them to add yours.

Even when my game arrives I wont be seeing any of you on it for quite a while. I'm at uni, so I dont have wireless broadband. I'll have to wait til I get home I guess.

You know Diamond is the best choice. I mean, if you want a game plastered in pink, that's your choice... What exactly do you mean by "plastered in pink"? Do you mean the case or the actual DS Card?

The case- the carts aren't coloured like previous games, for some reason.

The case- the carts aren't coloured like previous games, for some reason. Yeah, I was disappointed when I opened my Pokemon Pearl case and found a black DS card. Anyways, Pearl's case is primarily purple (or I'm colour blind), not pink.
