I've grown to like Coral. If she ever became a Freedom Fighter, her attacked I guess would be playing music, and trapping the enemy in a cocoon. If the enemy breaks out, Sonic can finish it off, and of course claim all the credit lol.

That is a pretty sweet character design. Also, how many Sonic fan artists ever thought to make a betta fish character? Same goes for Relic the Pika, heck, I'd never even heard of a pika before SU #63.

Crusher the Chao is quite funny. The fact that the first time he saw Sonic, he wanted a bitey. Though Crusher isn't giving up, on a few occasions he's tried to bite Sonic. He doesn't just attempt to bite, he nicks other Chao's food while Razor isn't looking lol.

now that's sweet! I came to like Coral, Razor and Crusher too! I'm curious to know how their story sorts out

I've already said this about the art, but it really is gorgeous. I particularly like the one where Tails looks at the Chaos Emerald, like you can see purple dots on Tails' eyes, from the reflection of the emerald etc. I want this great art to stay forever lol.

agreed. I get the feeling the comic has truly gotten better since the megaman crossover. I really like it like this. If I look at issue 200 going back, it feels like a compleatly different comic! others on the forum can confirm....I HATED Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog compleatly! Now I actually seem to like it, truth be told. hope it stays like this.....I'm actually a bit curious on how mecha-sally's story should have ended in "Lost Hedgehog Tales" .....by the way, have they come out yet?

by the way, have they come out yet? "Lost Hedgehog Tales" is well into its second draft, but not finalised. Still set for a summer release though.

I'm ready to bet they'll treat the werehog is a similar manner to Super Sonic: a crazy empowered creature unable to tell the difference between friends and fows triggered by fear and stress.

With a lot more muscle, of course! Sounds like Boom!Knuckles might have competition for people swooning over him. :V Don't think anyone mentioned it... But Boom comic confirmed. The first issue looks to have no less than FIVE variants. And four of them, seen here, form a complete picture when put together. My wallet, ahhh! Subscriptions are open here.

I saw this at Sonic Stadium! IT's SIMPLY GORGEOUS!!!!! No matter what lays under, the cover alone makes it worth picking up! *_*
eheheh Tanner you're not the only one to say so! As a matter of fact on youtube you can find all Sonic Unleashed cutscenes edited with Knuckles Boom! XD (who's design I actually like a lot more than modern >_> )

I buy comics for the content within, the awesome cover art is just a happy bonus. And I certainly don't buy multiple copies of one issue just to collect the variant covers. That's just daft.

no. Off course you don't buy more than one! And yes, don't judge a book by it's cover. HOWEVER: if the only means of judgment of the book/comic is the cover. Then I suppose it becomes a good start. From the cover at leest I know the art in it will be dashing and nice to follow. At leest in my opinion the promise of a good looking page might become a good reason. You try one if the story and all the other elements of it strike you, you get issue n2. If it doesn't you drop it there.

Didn't one issue of Archie have different endings depending on which copy you picked up recently?

A couple of issues actually. And I didn't buy both versions of those issues, either.

That would be Sonic & Mega Man that did the read until the end of the credits month thing. To be honest I didn't really like that idea. Sure you get one new page to read, though Archie's goal there was to try and sell more copies. Did it work though?

In fact, the Sonic issue of that scheme ended up royally messed up saleswise because it seems to have caused a printing problem. :S

Just read Issue 263. I am most intrigued by the new characters they're introducing/teasing. I look forward to the next issue with great anticipation.

Poking this to life a bit. The off-panel of Sonic Universe #78 had a pretty overt reference to Sonic the Comic in it.

Yeah, there's quite a few references to Sonic the Comic when you really look at it. Such as the Genesis Portals, which act suspiciously like those warp points that appeared after Mobius and Shanazar merged...

Yeah, kinda realised my mind had rewound the numbers back just before I had to write the preview for SU#80. I thought SU#75 was part of the crossover when calculating issue numbers. :/
