Anyone else gonna be sad like me and stay up to watch them?
Really hope Kate Winslet wins [censored] all. Such an overrated actress.

Ledger on Supporting Actor?
Isn't "supporting " actor classified as those actors in a secondary role, to look at Dark Knight that would be people like Albert (Caine) and Lucius Fox. (Freeman)
The Joker is one of the three main characters in it, so isn't that placeable in the "lead actor" segment?

While I agree, there can only be one lead actor and any others are those who support him. Bale is unarguably the lead actor so Ledger can only be placed in the supporting category. On that note, I have to say I was a little moved by the standing ovation he received and Nolan gave a nice speech on his behalf.

Its a BATMAN film. BATMAN is the lead character. The lead character was the Joker. Ledger stole every scene, the entire film, and then escaped into the beyond. The number of times I've seen the film I have never thought of Bale as the central character of it, just a very important one. Also...

I found it hilarious that Kate Winslet forgot Angelina Jolie was competing for a globe... then again, does anyone really care about the Golden Globes?!

I found it hilarious that Kate Winslet forgot Angelina Jolie was competing for a globe... then again, does anyone really care about the Golden Globes?! Being the movie maniac I am, I like all sorts of award ceremonies. Even if a little part of me goes "wait a minute. Hollywood pays these actors millions of dollars to do their job and then rewards them for it with trophies? What the [censored]?" But that's just when I'm looking for a rant. I also see the Golden Globes as a good predictor for the Oscars which is annoying cos that could mean Winslet wins an Oscar. She is such an overrated actress who really only gets work because she dosen't have anything against doing nude scenes. If their was artistic merit on just getting naked on film then Jenna Haze would scoop all the awards...

That's ridiculous.

Not a lead character, I'm expressing what I mean badly again. What I meant is that to me the film didn't feel particularly focused on Bruce Wayne/The Batman, treating treating him as a very important side character instead, whilst Joker and Dent felt like they were more central figures.
Dunno if that makes sense to anyone else, but meh, it's just one interpretation of the film, there are most certainly better ones out there (interpretations that is).

Well, of course they were the focus - we'd already had the development of Batman himself in the last movie, it wouldn't make much sense to spend the movie doing the same thing again. He's still the main character though, and the movie's still all about him beating the Joker, and later Two-Face.

I found it hilarious that Kate Winslet forgot Angelina Jolie was competing for a globe... then again, does anyone really care about the Golden Globes?! Having just returned from the cinema after seeing The Changeling, I can honestly say Jolie was robbed. Changeling is the best film I've seen in a while and Angelina Jolie once again proves why she is one of the best actresses this generation has to offer. And Woody Allen is a fantastic director. I've only seen two of his films (this and Million Dollar Baby) and loved them both.

I also find it hilarious that before the whole Brad Pitt, her ever increasing brood and suddenly caring about the world's poor stuff, everyone else thought Angelina Jolie was a freak... wearing a vial of Billy Bob Thorntons blood around her neck and frenching her half brother etc etc... and now she is a demi-goddess in most people's eyes. She also cant do a British accent without sounding ridiculous.... She's not that bad, compared to some but I would not go as far to say she is one of the best actresses of our generation. Just one of the most famous.

Boy am I red. I meant Clint Eastwood. Sorry, was looking at the advert for the new Woody Allen film as I was typing. Also, Jolie is very versatile and has been in a lot of great films. Sure her stock has risen more recently but I can honestly say I find her to be a brilliant actress. Winslet on the other hand just annoys me. I only like her in two films and yet everyone holds her in such high regard. And her British accent, while real, is more intolerable than Jolie's.

Million Dollar Baby would have been so fun if Woody Allen directed it. Just think! Insted it makes me cry. I want to see that Changling film though. Thats the one about the kid not being hers isnt it? The ad looked...good.
