God knows. There was a Grey horse for Manual, and Brown for Automatic.
At the title and white screens, hold up and left on the d-pad (diagonally), and then hold A, B, X, Z, and press start, or win every race on Medium difficulty.

OK, I just checked out that second video. Does anyone else think the steering looks a bit iffy?

bah been watching gamespots coverage of e3 for the last few day's finally get around to sonic, and the stupid guy at the booth won't even confirm tails as playable despite the fact he's in the damn demo (not playable I know but still) and wouldn't say anything on character roster despite that we've already all seen video talking about 20 character :/ bah

I'd imagine the roster being all the cast of Superstars Tennis, Sonic Heroes, and perhaps the odd other reference thrown in. I just want NiGHTS in there, at the very least.

According to wiki, the cast so far is
Sonic the Hedgehog (obviously, he's in the title), Miles "Tails" Prower, Doctor Eggman, Amy Rose, Shadow the Hedgehog, Big the Cat, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, and Amigo from Samba de Amigo, with over twenty different characters in the final version.

I'll buy this game if Ristar is in it.

Ristar = want.
I reckon there are going to be 2 more Sonic characters in the game. Any more and they should have just done Sonic Riders 3.
I think the whole SST roster is going to be in the game except Pudding. And hopefully the roster is closer to 30 than 20.

I'll buy this if there's a Hydrocity course.
Lookin' good, nonetheless.

I reckon there are going to be 2 more Sonic characters in the game. Knuckles and Metallix, I hope. Though if Big can make the cut that means any number of post-SA critters could barge in and take up more space.

I think Metallix is probably a fairly safe bet - he turned up in at least two previous Sonic racers (Drift 2 and R, haven't played the Riders games so I dunno if he's in them) and since he's just been revealed to be in Winter Olympics...

Surprisingly: Big, Metal Sonic, Marine, Espio, Charmy and Vector haven't appeared in a Riders game. And that's terrible. Especially seeing as Silver is in Zero Gravity

And that's terrible. Especially seeing as Silver is in Zero Gravity Remind me again, why are the non Sonic characters in this? There's more than enough Sonic character's to fill a racing game, without resorting to filler, even if you ignore the pre-adventure scrappies. If Sega wants to make a racing game based around it's main franchises, why give spotlight to minor characters from the Sonic series, such as Big whose been in three games that I can think of as playable, and only a cameo in a couple of others. Meanwhile, if it's just a pure Sonic game, why put the pointless non-Sonic racing characters into it? Would anyone really be disappointed to find that a Sega All Star's game didn't have Ulala, or AiAi in it? The only reason I can think of is for a larger variety of courses and cars, and more power-ups. you know this game is going to be marketed mainly at the pre-teen Sonic fans, who won't care about the Sega side of the cast, and will just go "who?" when asked about them. tl;dr: Whoever decided on the roster for this game was an idiot who'd never played a Sega game before, and probably got told "You have to have Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and Eggman, choose the rest from these photo's".

The extra characters are Sega's way of saying "Hey, we can do what Nintendo does too!".
And then failing hard by ignoring Ristar.

If Sega wants to make a racing game based around it's main franchises, why give spotlight to minor characters from the Sonic series, such as Big whose been in three games that I can think of as playable, and only a cameo in a couple of others. He's been playable in Sonic Adventure, Sonic Shuffle, Sonic Heroes and Sonic Chronicles, whilst appearing somewhere in Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic and the Secret Rings. That's at least 6 games, which is more than a lot of other "minor" characters. It isn't just a pure Sonic game, it's a SEGA game, in the vein of SEGA Superstars Tennis. Just because you didn't like the inclusion of AiAi and Ulala in SST and Riders, doesn't mean nobody else liked them (I for one liked AiAi's banana board in Riders). I just don't really get what you're getting at with this. You said yourself it's a "Sega All Star's" game, so what's wrong with having these characters. To some, characters like those from Super Monkey Ball are more memorable than the newer Sonic additions. Or, you know, they might say the same about some of the older Sonic characters (Metal Sonic, who?) more than they would about newer Sega characters which keep cropping up in Superstars games. Except it's by Sumo Digital, who made Sega Superstars Tennis, who were largely congratulated for their additions of Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio and Alex Kidd additions, among others.

People referring to the game canon Metal Sonic as Metallix grinds my gears, despite the fact that it clearly doesn't matter.
That's all.

You're right, you know. But I think its mostly to avoid typing the more cumbersome: Metal Sonic. Why, yes I am giving a huge benefit of a doubt on a Sonic the Comic forum here.

Metallix sounds cooler and more dangerous, given how badass the character is. [censored] Shadow. Metallix, man.

I've always called it Metallix purely for the clarity of referring to that design of Metal Sonic. Considering there are half a dozen of them.

I count one.
Metal, Mecha, Silver and Metal Madness. All distinct appearance and different names...

As far as I'm aware, only Metal Sonic and Metal Madness (which are kinda one and the same...) were ever actually officially named. The rest being of a time before Sega could actually give a [censored] about a single canon, they all just kinda floated around with fanon names anyway.
