Just a note that this isn't a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. The rights are still Fox's, and that's why the movie's being made now - to stop Marvel taking them back.
That said, Cage is insistent on it being a better take on the character, and he is at least a huge fan - so it's possible that'll happen. It could be pretty good.

Oh, yes. I probably should've mentioned that it's a "Marvel Knights" picture.
The trailer looks fun. Granted, that doesn't guarantee anything, but at least I'm not wincing like the first time.
EDIT: Wait. I lie. There was a part where I winced: "I'm not afraid of you", "You should be". OH MY STARS, SOMEONE GIVE THEM AN AWARD. The flaming piss was just weird, though.

They're bound to release another trailer closer to release that will probably be better than that one. Not that I disliked that one, though they could've made it clearer on who they were fighting. (Yes, I have heard that Loki is the villain in this, but he may not be alone.)

I'ma probably see it on Saturday.
Just read a review that mentioned there's a brief post-credits scene, so remember to stay in your seats while TEN YEARS of credits (probably) roll.
Oh, and I watched Captain America the other day, mainly just so I could say I'd seen all of the previous films. It was quite good!

Booked for Saturday afternoon. I'd have gone for the first showing but I said I'd see it with people who have those stupid job things soooo...... =/ Had to book 3D to get IMAX =/ I'd rather watch it in IMAX 2D but the Metrocentre Odeon are [censored]s.

Have seen this yesterday. Loved it, the Hulk steals all the scenes he's in.

Have seen this yesterday. Loved it, the Hulk steals all the scenes he's in. Saw the movie today, and I concur with that sentence. I won't spoil it, but there are two moments in-particular which got the audience crying with laughter. Thought the whole film was a ton of fun, though I'm not sure if I'd rate it above the first Iron Man or Captain America.

There's a lot in this film where if the entire audience isn't laughing out loud quite a bit, you're definitely in the wrong cinema. Classic Whedon writing, really. It is also hard to overstate just how much the Hulk manages to steal the show whenever he's around - which I think is good news for anyone hoping for another Hulk movie to exist, but probably also bad news that another Hulk movie will exist and the character will likely never be as good as he is here. I grew to Ruffalo's performance as Banner really quickly, though. He's a bit less fitting of the character than Norton was, physically, but he handles the role pretty well. My main criticism is the use of the Chitauri in the film. Ultimately, they end up existing as nothing but cannon fodder for the Avengers to mangle, which really diminishes the strength of the use of the Chitauri specifically, verses the mainstream Skrulls. In the Ultimates, they're the primary antagonist with fingers in many, many pies - their real goal being to control the human race with as little bloodshed as possible (not for moral reasons, just 'cos it makes more logical sense). That's really all lost here, but oh well. PS: Don't bother waiting for the end of the credits, that scene in the middle of them is all you get. If you're in the dark as to what that scene means after watching the film, come back and select my spoilered text: Google 'Thanos' PS.PS.: Don't skip the trailers if you want a good look at the new Spider-Man, Batman and Alien/Prometheus films.

I think the deal with the Chitauri was just that they'd want to save the Skrulls for a possible Secret Invasion film.

Thought the whole film was a ton of fun, though I'm not sure if I'd rate it above the first Iron Man or Captain America. See, I really liked Iron Man, but thought Captain America was the worst of the independent Marvel movies, so I still have no idea what to expect from the Avengers. Still, only another 5 days til I find out.

I think the deal with the Chitauri was just that they'd want to save the Skrulls for a possible Secret Invasion film. Skrulls, along with Galactus, the Watcher and I think the Inhumans are part of the Fantastic Four deal. Marvel Studios can't use them, unless/until the rights revert.

Saw it tonight. Easily the best Marvel movie, had a huge grin on my face the whole way through. Laughed out loud many times, had a consistent feeling of butterflies throughout, in that "this is awesome" way. The post-credits bit made me go "YES" and clap. Ten out of ten.

So I was just checking IMDB, because I could swear I saw Tom "Andrew from Buffy" Lenk in one scene. Apparently he wasn't (although Enver "Victor from Dollhouse" Gjokaj was), but Alexis "Wesley from Buffy/Angel" Denisof is credited as being in it as a character called The Other. Who the heck was that, then? I didn't spot him. Was he the guy with all the teeth and the weird chin-armour Loki had a chat with? Can anyone fill me in?

I'm guessing that was him, yeah. The lass would've recognised him if he was in the film and face were visible. Also his voice was different sooo that's my best bet.
