Hello there, just thought I would sign up here after listening to the latest STC Podcast (you're doing a great job btw) also because even after all these years I still read the occasional issue every now and then; so I hope I can add some contribute here to the forums. See you around!

Sup peoples, I discovered STCO a year or two ago and it reminded me of all the good memories of the old comics. That big countdown on the homepage got me psyched up enough to actually join, so here I am.
Also not actually a manatee in a suit but that would be epic.

Howdy Howdy Howdy everyone! =D My name is TheMobian, but I go by many other nicknames such as Mobian, Mobi, and Mobs! (take your pick, or make up your own ;P ) I've been a fan of Sonic the Comic and Sonic the Comic online for a couple of years now, and I thought it about time that I joined the forum =) I first heard about the series from BlackDogBrew on Youtube, and a bunch of my pals from Bumbleking Forums. I look forward to chatting with you all here on the forum, and hopefully meeting a bunch of new people!

I've been interested in doing some stuff for the comic for quite a while now. I'm just gonna do what good ol' Adamis advised me to do and drop my dA page here, specifically my Sonic gallery: thefatpanda.deviantart.com/gallery/41222452I think I'd be at my best drawing covers or wallpapers first. I still need to work my skills some more before I'm good enough to draw comic pages...

I'm actually surprised you weren't on this forum already XD What with you being the big StC fan over on Bumbleking Forums and all =) Anyways, from one Bumbleking veteran and StC Forum Newbie to another, I welcome you to the forum! ;D I didn't mention it before, but I also am looking for a way to submit a portfolio to someone working on StC in the hopes of maybe getting an opportunity to pencil a story one day. Although I'm still wanting to take a little time to get to know the community first =)

Hey guys, and welcome to the forums!
I really ought to set up a thread for budding artists; I'll definitely mention it to Stiv next time we chat, and I'll sort that out. It'll show you where to apply, what to send, etc. If it's still the same as it was back in 2009, you should get a short mock script to try out, so we can gauge your abilities.
If I might offer some advice in the meantime, the big thing that leaps out at me in both your works is backgrounds - try doing some point perspectives and look at how other artists do rocks, etc. to try and get a feel for it.
Anyway, I'll keep you posted. Hope you enjoy it here!

Thanks ShayMay! =D I appreciate you going to the trouble to look into this I WOULD have a few questions about the submission process, but judging by what you just said, It doesn't sound like you really have one set in place yet XD So I shall reserve my questions until such a time as you and Stiv can get a thread going explaining the submission process in more detail =) Until then, I shall indeed continue working toward improving my currently lacking backgrounds XP Thanks for the pointers Mayshay! ;D

A-hoy-hoy, long-time reader (at least medium-time reader of STC-O), first time poster here.
I'm Andy, freelance animator and full-time bon vivant. I read STC from the beginning and was nine years-old when the first issue came out (was it really 20 years ago?)
Anyways, nice to join the most reasonable facet of the Sonic fanbase.

Hey guys I'm Luke, me and my brother started reading STC when we were kids and it was actually the reason I became an artist. Last year I met Nigel Dobbyn at a con and well, you know how they say never meet your heroes coz they turn out to be jerks... not the case at all, he's a really really nice guy. anyway that's me.

Um, I suppose I'm the first new member in a while? Anyway, hello everyone! My name is Taylor, but I like to go by AoNo on the internet. I first got into STC when I was about 11 which was around 2008. As you can tell, I didn't get a chance to read STC during print time as being a young Canadian with no European connections (and no knowledge of the comic) prevented me to do so. But alas, here I am, a huge fan that's read through the series three times and has read dozens of articles on the comic. In fact, it's thanks to Nigel Kitching and Richard Elson (as well as quite a few STC-O artists) that I love to create characters, stories, and art. Although I'm going into the video game concept art business, it's thanks to this comic that I pursued my love of art and creation beyond doodling on paper. Aaand I've gotten all wordy. Heh, old habits die hard I suppose. Glad to be a member here, and maybe I'll even try to be an STC artist

Welcome. You're the first new member to post in this thread for a while, that's all. And why "alas, here I am"? Suggesting it's a bad thing you're here? :/

Also, I think quite a few people here read StC after the fact, usually from scans. Your experience with the comic is just as valid as those of us who bought it in 1993.

People around where I live use it both ways...Well, it's far from a bad thing being here, I'm very happy to have finally made an account I know, and I meant nothing bad by it. Just saying that I never got to read any physical copies, though I would die if I ever got my hands on one! Especially one of Kitching and Elson's stories
