The people asked and the people get: www.pokecharms.com/stco/index.php?title=Main_PageThere's only two articles on it - that being the main page and the vote for a new name page, but... yeah, up and running STCO wiki. I listed a few categories I thought would be a good start (though none of them have any articles tied to them), but since there's no articles tied to them, they're not set in stone. I've quickly thrown together a 'help' page on it of links for anyone not that well initiated in how Wiki formatting works (and I have to say, I'm still fairly running on trial and error here myself, I've done a bit for Bulbapedia in the past but not that much). The logo is completely open to change too, I threw it together pretty quickly just to have something there. But if you want to do anything new, it needs to be 135x135 and preferably 24bit PNG transparent. Soo... yeah. The main page stuff can only be edited by SysOps, so for that stuff to be changed you're going to have to go through me for now until we get a few more people on board that can do the job. So any major qualms with the way it is now will have to be posted here to be addressed. Technically, it's possible to get stuck into articles right now - but I think maybe we should decide here first what precisely we want here. One idea for a set of articles that came to my mind is one for every issue listing what was in the issue and maybe a synopsis of the stories within it. And you can tell from the categories I have listed what other ideas I had for possible articles. So, basically, over to everyone else now to decide where we want to go with this.

Wellll, I'm being awkward about 'STCO'. A full STC wiki shouldn't be called STCO =P.
Simply STCW or STC-W (Sonic the Comic (-) Wiki) sounds good to me?
Also, I'll volunteer for working on this, I spend all my time sat here anyway. It would be nice for my internetting to have a purpose again.

Incidentally, if we finally settle on a name - I'll be happy to push forward the couple of quid to get a .co.uk domain name to use instead of the subfolder/domain name with that name. stcw.co.uk or whatever.

As Stiv says, Wiki shouldn't be called STC-O. Maybe "Sonic the Wiki", or a traditional "[something] Zone"? Full issue synopses sound great.

Is it permissible if we copy particular sections from Wikipedia rather than rewrite them completely?
After all, it's a free encyclopedia, so it wouldn't be stealing.

Sure, I see no problem with that. I imagine that the STC Wiki articles for the likes of Captain Plunder and other characters are going to be much longer than the regular Wiki ones, so we'll still be writing a lot of our own stuff anyway.
Also, Decap Attack section plz.

Anyway, it's obvious that the stuff on Wikipedia about STC was likely written by fans anyway.

Would "Fleetwaywiki" be too stupid, seeing as they didnt just publish STC?

Can't do that unless we sign up to the same GNU free lisence as Wiki and if we do that, we're not allowed modify it once put into the Wiki. So, really, unless you wrote it, I'd avoid it.

So, really, unless you wrote it, I'd avoid it. I think I've written about half or all of the STC-related Wiki pages anyway at this point, so huzzah for cut-and-paste!

what about "Sonipaedia" for a name

Nah, it's not about all things Sonic, so perhaps the name should be a bit more STC-specific.

Can't seem to make references on this wiki. Yeah I noticed that, I just put it down to not knowing how to use the script. How about STCWiki?

References/Citations/Sources etc are a hack on Wikipedia - it's not a default thing.
You don't really need it for this though, do you? I mean, most of the sources are going to be the comics themselves. And if it were something from the mailing list or whatever, you could just do an external link or whatever as part of the sentance.

Hoo-Hah - Double Post...a...
Concerning pictures, does anyone have a complete set of scans with which to take pics from? I have a disc of 1-120 or so I think, but that's as far as my saved collection goes and without STCA I can't really get them back. It's just that the Character pages really need imagery on them I think.
I think we could also do with a template for character pages for an infobox to go on the side, a good profile picture of the character under their name, first issue, last appearence, story arcs involved in and maybe even a character creation tag? Like, Sega characters would all have Sega (and a link to Sega/Sega's article) while Lew's creations would have a link to his article etc.
Anyone think of anything else a character page infobox would really, really need that I'm missing?

People gotta stop relying on this STC Archive since it disappeared. tails.kicks-ass.netIt's got all the STCA archives, as well as loads of other comics, but it's got all the STCs and the specials and so on. I'm currently downloading them again to get knowledge on the non-Sonic series again. Infobox-wise, that seems to be dandy. Can't think of anything else. New question: To what extent should a character stop getting their own page? For instance, it's probably all well and good Grimer getting his own page, but when it comes down to The Trickster and Clark Bent, they don't really deserve much at all. Where should we draw the line?

I think Clark Bent should get one just for Beeth. But, maybe the one-shot characters could just be grouped together in the one article - or maybe grouped in pre and post #100 articles? Either way, those are still some pretty long articles - thanks to Sonic's World, there are loads of one-shot villain/ally of the day characters.

Just clump all the minor villains (The Leaf, Doctor Genius etc) into one article. That way they're not taking up unecessary space with many small articles.

I've got CBRs of 0-243, if we need pictures.
Yeah, pre and post 100 sounds good. Maybe even divide that into fifties if it's still a bit full. That could even be divided into random/villains.

How about cover galleries?
Somebody make a blank map of Mobius to go on a potential Mobius page for larfs (just use a blank world map and fill in random bits of it as zones. This might be plausible because Mobius is meant to be twin planets with Earth, eh?).
