Oh, for good greef, that game has to be started all over ! I really like complexed stories, ok?! But they have to be done right! And this story is just absured under every point! that PRINCESS!!!! It's absolutely incredable just how easly she gets cought! I mean the chaos Emeralds are stones, but it's way harder to catch them than that girl!!!! I would have had Amy punching Elise because of her useless being! I mean AMY has to save the princess as well...AMY!!! WTF!!!!! Talking about those cameras! you could fall down and do nothing about it!! Sheeees! Silver could have been a MUCH better character! Too stupid for me! I hate how Elise in this game comes before Tails and Knuckles! I don't really like how the two guys have been used in the game, they're the basic after sonic you just can't put them at the same level of all the other characters! Not to mention the dieing seen! I CAN'T BELIVE THE FASTEST THING ALIVE GOT [censored]ING KILLED BY THAT WAY SLOOOOOOW SHOT!!!! AND WORSE THE WAY HE GET'S BACK TO LIFE!!!!

In all due fairness... Sonic didn't see it coming. And I'm not talking about the game when I saythat. Hehee. You don't always hear the bullet that gets you (or in this case spear).

I might get fire for saying this, but I enjoyed Sonic Unleashed. The 360 version anyway. The Wii version however....
Sonic 06.....It's still sitting in my drawer. I completed the Sonic story, and thought I might one day do the rest, but never did.
Uh....SOME of the music was good in Sonic 06. SOME. Also, I did like some of the two player versus levels. But really, some of the bugs in the game just turn me off it. Like that desert level. How on earth can that be second level in two player co-op ? You have to play against the bugs and the bad design. Now compare that with NSMBW's co-op mode and.....Well. It's probably an unfair comparison.
The story? Uh.....from what I played, something about the iblis trigger, and some new Princess Elise loves Sonic, or something...
The Bosses I remember were annoying.
But those levels......How could that Snow level make it past testing? Or the stupid Tlevel with the trains and time limit? HOW?!?! Whoops, ooh glitch throws you miles off the edge. Start miles back please. And that Sky Garden level......it just put me off playing it again with car driving Shadow and Slow as you like Silver.
BTW, Sonic Unleashed's 3D levels were bad but playable.

The game , simply shouldn't have been released, at least in it's current state. There are times when it's clear that a project just isn't working and must be restarted from scratch. It's clear that Sonic Team just beleived that the Sonic franchise name would be enough to appeal, and in a sense it was. Obviously the large amounts of money and effort but into any game means many developers (Sega clearly) don't want to start over a project.
Sonic 06' was a game that, to many is the hedgehogs decline into medorcrity. It kept many of the faults of 3D Sonic games such as dodgey camera angles, wonky controls and annoying characters and made them worse, along with adding unnessary and damaging new additions; intended or not. A unconvincing story, more annoying characters, glithes and absurd loading times all wormed their way into the final product. I could go into detail, but it's already so clear to the majority.
If I was to suggest what would be re-done it would be to have kept closer to the orginal trailer feel at the very least. Remember the early trailer which showed Sonic (and just Sonic) running along a field of green, robots chasing him down along lush forest mountain? The feeling that it would be old Sonic but for the new generation? They should of at least kept to that ethos.

the goood things of the game though were some of the musics, such as His World that I really liked! The intro video was kinda spectacular. And if better parted I liked you could play with all characters. but the rest of the grafic was no good, even for it's age.

Humans would be bearable if there were more of Sonic and friends race around. At times in the games it tneds to led the player to believe Sonic, Knuckles, Amy, Tail, etc are the ONLY animals around.

*look at thread title*
*think of a way to sum up improvement of the game in a one-liner*
Make it 2D.

Sonic: Less slippery, make Mach Speed stages less of a [censored], and make Super Sonic playable.
Shadow: Not a lot, I liked his gameplay the most.
Silver: Faster, accurate, more powers (like lasers).

I would have said screw this and scrapped everything...except for Silver. He is now one of my favorite characters (excluding his annoying voice). So, I would have taken the idea of him and made a game solely based around him (and maybe Blaze), along with Robotnik's grandson as an enemy.

Silver's character was a good idea, but executed terribly. When you first get to go him, you think it's the best thing ever that you're flinging objects about and holding enemies in place. Building makeshift bridges from cars and rubble is okay the first few times, but gets boring and repetitive, because all you're doing is holding down a button. The bosses with Silver consist of dodging missiles made of ground and pieces of metal, catching them, then flinging them back to the boss. So, I'd have to say, Silver is actually far from being an amazing character and could have been used for so much more. Also, a game based solely on another character from the Sonic franchise is a bad idea. Shadow the Hedgehog. 'Nuff said.

I think a soul character gme not based on Sonic is better saved for a latter half of a decade. Let each decade find its rooting first, then release a side characte game once you've got it built up. So I wouldn't expect another until 2015 anyway.

Shadow actually wasn't too bad. The levels were a bit featureless and could've done with less bottomless pits (a usual argument with any recent Sonic game), and the destiny paths idea were an original idea yet poorly executed, but it played competently and it was somewhat therapeutic taking out a row of aliens with a lasergun. It was certainly nowhere near as awful as Sonic '06 was.

I don't want to play this game, because I think it will break my heart.... TT^TT
It's just a step too far in my opinion. They really need to get back to basics, and maybe return to the original cast, at least for one game, if only to get the characters acting like... well, like the characters would.
I much preferred Sonic's world when Kintobor/Robotnik was the only human on Mobius. Mobius seems to have been forgotten all around in favor of Earth! I'm playing this game for escapism, why would I want it set where I live anyway? I want to run around the Green Hill Zone again! This isn't my childhood hero!
That said, what can I really judge without playing it? Were there any good points, in other people's opinions?

I much preferred Sonic's world when Kintobor/Robotnik was the only human on Mobius. Mobius seems to have been forgotten all around in favor of Earth! In Japan, it was always Earth. In America, there was a Disney (I think) comic that did the origin as it was told in STC (Kintobor, egg, ROCC), along with Mobius. There was some confusion about a Mobius strip (or so they say) hence the name America ran with. Japan didn't really care, and mostly let the West do what they liked. Now they're cracking the whip, with the game stories at least.

I had no idea that it was always Earth - that seems really odd to me, having grown up with the Mobius backstory, but it explains a lot!

Robotnik's always been "Eggman" to them. I prefer how Adventure wrote it, Dr "Eggman" Robotnik as it was the best of both worlds. And it happens in real life, people get called things like 'Daniel "Ace" Moore and such like.

Only with the power of cider and relentless inferno I give a longer and more detailed of what I would do to improve the train wreck. Basics: Camera needs to be improved, possibly by taking a racing game camera route. Play test the [censored]. I mean theres a difference between making sure there are 100% no glitches or rushing the thing out for no real reason. No amigo characters interrupting the main characters levels. Give them full fledged chapter and a "Free Mode" when completing the game. Graphics needed to be a lot better. I mean this is supposed to be Next Gen. At times it looked worse than Dreamcast. Better looking humans, shadows and scenery. Controls and moves: Spin jumps hurt enemies without the need for homing attacks, firstly. And Gliding into them. All characters should have a sense of momentum and weight. The faster you go the further you jump, running up loops slows you down until you reach the other side. Better slow speed controls for platforming. Level design: Actually some of the better 3D Sonic levels in this game but still need a lot of improving. Water isn't acid. At the very least - Rouge, Knuckles and Tails have swam in the past. Develop some underwater sections. Establish the high road and low road a bit more. Reward exploration. CharactersSonic: Drop the Sonic + Elise levels. Its just... no... The gems didn't really mesh well with the game play I though. Either develop them a bit better or drop them. Controls A: Jump and Homing, X Light Dash unt only Light Dash, B Spin Attack/Spin Dash (Hold) and Bounce Attack and Arse Slam (Hold) Shadow: Vehicles have Halo style controls. All the cool kids do it because it makes sense. Controls: A: Jump and Homing Warp plus those punches and kicks, X: Chaos Spear, B: Some sort of shield or chaos charge explosion move, Y: Get in Vehicles. Silver: ARGH THOSE BALLS. Plus be a bit more generous with the PK meter. Focus on puzzles and platforming. Not speed. Controls: A: Jump plus hover, RT: Psycho shield, LT: Target enemy with object, X: Fire object or punch, B: Interact with scenery or something else awesome. Omega: Needed more visual aids for targeting like Gamma. Plus needs his Scarface meets ED209 charm that he had in Heroes and Shadow. Rouge: Ceiling climb and flying and kicking. Had some of the better amigo segments to be honest. Knuckles: Poor Knuckles. They really screwed him up. Better everything. Tails: Just needs his tail attack back. Amy: She nicked Espio's gimmick. All he has now is his long tongue. Amy needs to be Mario basically. With skirts and hammers. Blaze: blimey, probably the one with least work really. Perhaps a auto acceleration move to ape the Rush meter. Metal Sonic. He would beat everyone in a fight. Even John Cena. Story:Silver and Shadow's stories dont need too much work really. They are essentially the repeat of DONT UNDERESTIMATE THE SUPER POWER OF TEAMWORK. Mephiles was kinda cool. Always in two minds about him. Maybe if he was everyone's villain when released. So against Rouge he looks like a Mephiles styled Rouge and so on. Drop Fire Chaos. and the lava and rock minions. Sonic. Down play the whole Sonic X Elise thing. Its there. Creepy laughter and green fields. Have Elise's tears be the thing the revives Sonic. Maybe a kiss on the head at the end of the game. Loved Realistic looking Eggman. Actual threat this time too. Aside from the last story of course. Thats probably not it but I'm spent.

There was some confusion about a Mobius strip (or so they say) hence the name America ran with. Eh... not quite. The name 'Mobius' was used in the Sonic Bible circulated around Sega of America prior to the release of the first game, and over a year before the Yuji Naka interview in which he referred to "new Mobius worlds". The Sonic Bible was the basis of all the early material in the West, including the STC and the promotional comic, which was produced internally and published both as a one-shot and in many different magazines (including Disney Adventures and even Superman).

onestly I think it's nice to have Mobius but It's anyway better to have earth and Mobius. I mean Earth is our world and we know it like our pocket, it's much harder to use an immaginery world with so many Zones you can't even count them! For example, how the heck would you have done Unleashed if it was on Mobius?!?!?!?
well the one truly positive thing about this game is that it was a prototipe of the new real era. they mixed a lot of new things and saw what was in and what was out! You just can't play the same thing all over again so sometimes they creat these crapy games to try new ideas and tecniques.
