Not make him as dark as SatAM's Robotnik, but he's just silly as he is now, and has been since SA2 (where he seemed that he could at least form a plan). Again, I wouldn't like to see him all brooding and evil, especially as Mike Pollock's kept the role, but making him actually come up with plots and schemes (as opposed to just "awaken monster to destroy world, build theme park on top") would go a long way in my eyes. He really seemed to hit a perfect very good blend of the two during SA2, unfortunatly it was so late into the game that it was overshadowed by his "goofy" attitude earlier and after, if the threat level displayed by him during/around Crazy Gadget was continued/brought back, I think he'd become a much better character. Also, the Eggmanland concept has constantly [censored] me off, the only exception was in Sonic Chronicles, probably because it reminds me so heavily of STC.

The bits I remember of Robotnik from SA2: - The bit where he scratched his arse.
- The bit where he THREATENED AMY WITH A GUN THEN THREW SONIC INTO SPACE.
I thought he was the perfect blend of serious and comedic the whole way through. He had big plans, and executed them, but his bouts of temper and the arse-scratching bit balanced it out.

* Plus the way he tricked Tails into revealing that his Yellow Chaos Emerald was the fake one.

oh man! But SA2 isn't one of the saga's best game for nothing you know !!!! Sonic Adventure 2 isn't one of Sega's best games. At all. Not when you consider a fair portion of their Dreamcast, MegaDrive and MasterSystem libraries.
To say it's one of Sega's best games is just bizarre when you take into consideration Streets Of Rage, Dynamite Heady, Shenmue, Yakuza, Hang On, Space Harrier, House Of The Dead, Sega Rally, Golden Axe, Shinobi, Alex Kidd, Rez, Crazy Taxi and a [censored]tonne of others.
It's not even one of Sonic's best games, given that Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic And Knuckles, Sonic CD, Sonic Colours, Sonic 1 and 2 8-BIT, Sonic Chaos, Sonic Triple Trouble, Sonic Advance and, arguably, a bunch of the spin-offs.

She said "the saga", not "Sega".
She's still incorrect, though.

With the probable exception of Colours (it's a Christmas pressie), SA2's the 3D game with the highest quality, IMO.

Meh, SA2's not all that great.
Then again, you're talking to a person who enjoyed Heroes, ShtH and SatBK more than the Adventure saga and outright hated SatSR and Sonic 3.

Then again, you're talking to a person who outright hated SatSR. Did anyone enjoy Secret Rings aside from those five, deluded minutes where people were proclaiming it as a triumphant return to glory?

I have been tempted to hunt out a Gamecube copy of SA2 lately. I haven't played it since I had my Dreamcast copy many, many years ago, and I never actually completed it. I actually saw a copy in CEX the other day for 4 quid, and I almost got it until it suddenly occurred to me that I couldn't actually use it unless I bought a GC controller too, and I was short on cash!

I still think my most damning experience of Secret Rings was the time I put the remote down to go for a slash and returned to an A rank.

Sonic Adventure 2 is a game that I've always considered very flawed. Even back when it first came out I thought it was a load of overrated codswallop. When the only good bits comprise of probably less than a quarter of a game's total runtime (and even those have their dodgy moments, like those rail-infested ARK levels), then something's gone very wrong.

So here it is, the final part of my article, in which I bring you the number one worst Sonic character of all time. None of you successfully predicted it, so this time I’ve decided to supply an equally unpredictable song to go with it. Enjoy. 1: TikalYes, Tikal. Don’t look at me like that. She’s by a country mile, the most vile and hopeless piece of work ever to emerge from Sonic Team’s studio, fact. If I wanted to listen to the inane ramblings of some whiny, self-righteous, utterly patronising, peace-loving nature girl, I would wait for the run-up to the general election and watch the Green Party manifesto. As read by Yeardley Fricking Smith. Tikal, whose name apparently comes from the ancient Mayan word for bread, spends the vast time of her sole canon appearance in Sonic Adventure being the original “annoying flying helper thingy”, floating around in orange orbs about the place ordering you to push buttons to slide, spin, walk about a bit and generally suck eggs. Appearing in her original whiny crybaby form, she spends the brunt of her time pottering around in ill-conceived and indecipherable flashbacks, whining at her father and whining at the player character and whining to other people and whining to herself ad nauseum et ceterAAAAAAARGH. [censored]ING SHUT UP YOU HIPPY BLOODY TURNIP!!! Dearie me! Her idea of a conflict is to stand in front of the adversary, hold her hands across and whine at them. This, apparently, is how she opposed her ignorant git of a father Pack-a-Mac or whatever several times, never once pushing herself to do anything more insistent or forceful. She’s so bloody pathetic! It’s no wonder Pacmacmcdonalds ignored her and resorted to war. I bleeding would if my spawn did that constantly. And another thing: while not directly related to Sega’s bungling, granted, the amount of dodgy “fanart” I have come across of Tikal, specifically and particularly with the deity Chaos involved, is absolutely atrocious and disgusting and it’s all but put me off the character for life. I think the more learned boomers will know what I’m referring to, I won’t repeat what I’ve seen and heard here. All I know is, brain bleach was needed in great amounts. So there you have it, the worst Sonic character ever created. I hope you’re happy, Sega, for inflicting this piece of turd upon us. Tikal is the biggest [censored] in the history of videogames. End of. I can’t believe I’ve even wasted time drawing the intricate and unnecessary detail on her bloody head for the sake of this passage, but there you go. Thank you for reading, folks. Cheerio! P.S. I was joking, in case any of you hadn’t quite twigged the exact nature of this thread yet. =P

The worst Tikal related thing that was "offical" was part of the future Sonic storyline in Archie...

Tikhaos? Meh, the original article is worse.
Maybe it's related to all the anti-Echidna stuff that's happening. I know that one of the latest Sonic blogs implied that the Brotherhood was dead, and Albion certainly isn't bright and happy at the moment.
