For all the mis-steps this game took, and the disappointment this series has been since, this video still has the power to reduce me to an excited child in Lakeside shopping centre, Thurrock, watching it on repeat in Beatties on a big screen, just prior to the Dreamcast's launch.

Around the 0:59-1:00 mark, am I the only one who hears "who gives a [censored]"?
But yeah, it's pretty cool.

Like its the end of the world and only one man can stop this evil godzilla made of water....NO! one hedgehog! Still a pretty awesome opening to a game, you have to admit.

They manage to make Big look half bad ass in this opening so credit to that. Still it's a cool opening and a great way to introduce players to idea of a true 3D adventure.

I have to admit to still getting a nostalgic thrill when I see this intro. I remember it was the first thing that really got me excited about the Dreamcast and seeing a proper Sonic game for the first time in years. The game itself hasn't aged well at all, but this intro is still classic.

It's a pity I never actually saw it until DX, when it just looked like a cheap, oddly cut together cut-scene. I do really like Open Your Heart though. How it was mixed together with the visuals was always sweet.
