At least say it's got a cropped top I cheered! I was just all the way at the back again!

But in regards to the costume competition. Though to be far though I feel Sorry for the people who actually try and have awesome costumes but don't win because some one who dresses as silver with little to no effort wins just because silver is a popular character. Silver is popular now? Also, I'm pretty sure she won because she's a popular person, and was wearing a skintight outfit that totally showed off her body to a room full of horny teenagers yeahI till find it baffling that he has a fan base. From what it recall she was like 14 or 15 something not that great looking bit not ugly so to say. I just feel it scheme to go by applause when the characters they like get more cheers then the actual effort that goes into making the costume. There need to be judges I think to make it fairer. From what I remember there where tons of Mephalise fans last year too.

I was Metal Sonic last year (Thalia was Super Sonic XD) and we didn't even make it past round 1. I still can't believe Thalia's in-character quips went completely over the heads of the guys hosting the contest. What utter ignorami. You're joking, right?

I wish I was. As Feniiku said it was probably because they were only familiar with the games, but you'd think a Sonic fansite (a British one, no less) would do their homework.

No, you wouldn't, that's absurd! I've read the [censored] out of STC and I didn't have the [censored]ing foggiest. It was obtuse as all get out, and it doesn't seem reasonable to label them ignorant for not clocking it.

Thing is, the amnesiac Super part is easier to forget than the brutal cunning evil part is, so it's not that surprising.
Yes, it's a shame her jokes went over their heads, but there's nothing to be done about it *shrug*

Sad thing is even though Britain had its own fan base and sonic section even, other brits who say they are sonic fans even around the begining of sonic , Have never even heard of STC. Yet know a [Censored] load about Archie. Like the guys on the sonic stadium hardly ever ever mention STC but go super in depth about archie. Which boggles my mind as its run by us UK'uns.

To be fair, amnesiac Super Sonic was in a total of about five issues a decade ago.

I of course never saw this, but the mental movie of it I've constructed from these descriptions is making me cringe like god-knows.

Yeah, at the time it wasn't bad really, I mean, I didn't think it was that funny. It was one of those sort of, explained to me later, "oh ha ha ha *awkward smile*" sort of things. At the time, the host guy was like "Er... OK" and it just kind of came off as lame. I just take exception with the sort of "cuh, those retards weren't aware of this very brief and ultimately meaningless tiny detail from a very obscure comic" response.

Okay, maybe I was harsh in my intitial post, but I still found it odd that they didn't get the reference. I thought fandoms were all about obsessing over very brief and ultimately meaningless tiny details from very obscure things. That said, I never thought of STC being "obscure"; don't forget it was even outselling 2000AD at one point, if I remember right. I never thought it was so niche that even most UK Sonic fans know almost nothing about it.

I'm sure they know plenty of stuff about STC.

anyone know how many people were at SoS last year, I mean I was there but I have no idea how many other people were, I assume it was less the then 800 place they have this year? but who know what with people waiting outside, just interested because of how fast these tickets sold out, and wondering if there going to be a lot less STC peeps this time around *ahem... edited because I put 8000 places rather then 800 <_<

Yeah, I managed to get the tickets I needed, so I'll be there, too. Is there to be another costume contest? I think someone should go as a completely irrelevant character like a Stormtrooper or Gandalf. I had a similar idea a couple of months back, but since I'll be having to take a train ride, I won't be carrying it out.

I'm going to be practicing typing in my email, name, etc at speed so I can do it on the Wave 2 day in under 20 seconds
