EDIT: Haha, no I don't.

I'm going to call the Police and tell there's a paedophile running amok in the convention centre. I'll then describe Yuji Naka in great detail.

I'm looking at the itinerary for the day- looks pretty packed! What time will the STC-Oers be ready to roll? Since it's such a busy day, I'd like to make time for you but I'm sure you understand I don't want it to clash with some of the things on the main stage. Also, who's actually going to be on the STC-O table? On a related note, what sort of things will the Nigels be willing to sign? I want to bring issues 4 and 65 of STC, obviously, but does anyone suppose Nigel K would be willing to sign this? More to the point, would security allow me to bring it inside in the first place?

I'm cosplaying as the Gumball Bonus Stage from Sonic 3. Took me idea then, bro?

There's a quiz that we're running throughout the day, which will get announced on the day. In terms of people there, there's obviously the two Nigel's, Stiv, Calisto, Kimbo, Markus, Charles and myself (that I know of, sorry if I missed anyone!). As for signage, I think Nigel K is happy to sign most things, especially old issues and posters, although I'd be wary of any queues and such. Can't wait to see people there! I'm not around here quite so much these days, but I'm still here!

Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeete! :3 Can I just say I am ridiculously jealous of you buggers going? I wanna go next year... I haven't seen anyone from STCO for a long time (I bumped into Kimbo and Cal in Brum a few years ago... not sure if that counts! XD) but something tells me a 29 year old being there might be a little frowned upon. Also I just found out about the masterclass from the Nigels... OMG that would be so awesome. Enjoy it, guys! Here's to being crusty old fans!

Won't be attending this time. Wouldn't have been able to afford it even if I hadn't missed all the chances to get a ticket.

Glad you posted that, Fen, or I'd have never seen it and looked rather a bosom tomorrow. I imagine there'll be a lot of confusion tomorrow morning.

No probs. If you pass anyone on the way looking lost, do share the info XD; I wouldn't have noticed it either, had I not happened to have been on twitter when it was posted.
Nothing else has changed, except for the art classes being cancelled. Pretty minor considering how last minute that was! Welp, more time for queueing I guess :B

Shame for the 25 people who booked the first class, though. At least it means the Nigels will be available for more of the day, so that's something positive.

What an absolutely amazing day! I missed a lot of it, but I imagine it'll be highlighted on Twitch.tv. The free goodie bags on the door were great and unexpected, a lovely bonus. I ended up queueing for about two hours to meet the Nigels but boy was it worth it. Nigel D drew me this and Nigel K drew me this (and seemed genuinely thrilled about it, too). Both of them were absolutely lovely. I was on the verge of having a fit of nerves at meeting two of my childhood icons, but Nigel D was just so nice I calmed down immediately. Nigel K was happy to sign my Decap print too! The inks for the next issue of STC-O look fab, there's a very well-drawn story there, I eagerly await the final product! The STC-O staff I spoke to were absolutely lovely, it was a pleasure finally meeting you guys. I am reliably informed there is a flashback sequence featuring Johnny's death at the hands of the Chaos Monster. I wouldn't usually spoil anything but I couldn't resist taking a picture to share with you guys: here you go. All Stars Racing Transformed looked fab, I'll definitely look forward to that now. Steve Lycett seems really cool, his team obviously care about their work. Takashi Iizuka was great, it's a shame one or two of the questions weren't fully answered as they obviously lost something in translation. It was very informative, though. Absolutely howled laughing at the In Brief cartoons. The STC reference got the biggest laugh from the audience, which was nice. I'll not spoil it for those of you who haven't seen the new ones yet. The costumes on display were really fab. I thought the couple who'd come as Banjo-Kazooie were brill. The Werehog was bound to win it, though. I refuse to believe Cubot got to the final three because of the costume, regardless of the quality of the helmet. I rather suspect it was because she was a pretty young lady. There were at least three others who I felt were more deserving of third place (the guy who was dressed as Wes Weasley was fab). But, then again, I'm speculating. Sadly, I had to leave after Sonic 06 In Brief. I'd have stopped 'til the end but the journey down took me five hours and I didn't fancy getting home at about two in the morning (and I'm not that fussed about Crush 40, even though apparently everyone else in the building was, judging by the cheer they got at the start of the day's events). Mercifully, the roads were great on the way back, so it only took me three hours to return- still, better safe than sorry. Oh, and I won this. Which was just fantastic. Thank you to everyone involved, it's been the most enjoyable day out I've ever had. I'd love to come again, but please make it closer to Derbyshire next year

Fen had fun Fen is also completely knackered. Fen would write things up but she spent half the time posing for photos and half the time dying in the back of a room XD With some ASR:T and socialising mixed in. Did get a couple of t-shirts though- one of the limited Sonic ones, one of the Crush 40 @ SoS12 ones. Oh, and a Borderlands 2 t-shirt from one of the Rezzed convention guys next door when they ran up and down the Summer of Sonic queue to promote themselves XD; Got my DS case signed by Iizuka-san too so that's awesome, gotta find my sealant now to protect it Oh, and NiGHTS and Reala were confirmed as playable in ASR:T. Just a note. Met a bunch of mates, did more socialising than I do in a year XD; SoS is -still- one of the most fun conventions I've ever been to

Gaaah, how did I miss you, LT? Or did I not miss you and have gone mental? yeeeeeahAnyway, SoS '12 was a potent mixture of gentle amusement and raw horror, much more so than last year's. I felt very, very out of place at times (when anybody who I didn't know spoke to me, mainly), but I still enjoyed it overall. It was nice to meet the STCO lot again, and meet some people from here who I hadn't run into before. Sonic Racing 2 was really, really good - I love the feel of the water in the boating sections. As for raw horror, I just cannot comprehend how people can like the whole Sonic thing this much. During the cosplay bit, when Shadow came on this girl SCREAMED fully into my ear, causing me incredible pain and to furiously yell "HE'S NOT REAL YOU CAN'T HAVE SEX WITH HIM". So yeah - fun event, not enough to do this year, nice to see everyone, don't think I can do it again. Edit: Oh, and I dunno if it was a last-minute venue change thing, but Crush 40 were horrible, the acoustics of the room rendering their efforts an appalling static mess. They put their all into it for sure, but it just came out so horribly. Nobody else seemed to care, mind.

Pitching in on the raw horror bit, I got into a debate with someone on Facebook when the venue was announced to be in Brighton as opposed to London. The level of blind fanaticism and condemnation of common sense was frightening; self-righteous arguments came thick and fast about how true fans would travel the extra distance, and how it was mendacious and horrible of me to be slagging off the organisers (which I hadn't once done, my argument was simply that a little more notice would have been appreciated).
I do kind of wish I was there, to meet up with the STC/O lot, but the more I see of this the more I'm repelled, and the more I realise just how done with the franchise I am.

During the cosplay bit, when Shadow came on this girl SCREAMED fully into my ear, causing me incredible pain and to furiously yell "HE'S NOT REAL YOU CAN'T HAVE SEX WITH HIM". Was she the Maria Robotnik cosplayer? If so, we must have been literally feet away haha! If not, then that's depressing, that we both encountered a mental. The aforementioned Maria I was near was flipping through her freebie SU issue and saying to people around her "Look at him, he's so hot!!". Not "I find these traits attractive", mind you, HOT. TALKING HEDGEHOG. HOT. She also shared her theories on how Sonic is a homosexual. Not that it would bother me, but he's just not, is he? Because he's a cartoon character for children. Other than that completely mental witchling, I loved everyone I met. I really felt for the guy who was dressed as Banjo, he looked absolutely sweltered in that suit come the mid-afternoon, but he never once stopped posing for people when asked. I would agree, however, there wasn't enough to actually do. I wasn't going to queue to play Sonic 4 when it's already out, the lines for signings downstairs were massive and most of the main stage stuff was either music or Q&A. As much as I appreciate all of that, there was a lot of waiting around between events at some point. I don't regret queueing two hours to meet the Nigels, it was SO worth it. But it is a shame that meant I missed, by default, about half the day's events.

Ahh, yeah you ended up near... uh... Katie, I think her name is. She's a HUGE Shadow fangirl (though I gather you noticed) and every year she's turned up she's deafened people nearby (I was unfortunate enough to be standing NEXT to a Shadow the first year she went. Ow) Nice enough girl (when the conversation can't be turned into something about Shadow), but very very uh... excitable. I try to just nod and leave the area as fast as possible :/ No, there isn't a whole lot to do. Previous years we've had Wrecks Factor and such, but with Sonic Wrecks out of the organisation part of the convention this year that was gone, and with the change in venue events and such got shuffled around. The fan merch was restricted to freebies, probably due to SEGA's bigger role in the convention now. Licensing, ugh. No, Summer of Sonic isn't for everyone, but I see it as a chance to get out and see some of the faces behind the (usually) more sensible side of the fanbase. I like it, I have fun, but I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea

I would not hesitate to recommend it - I hope I'm not coming across as dismissive or anything. It's just very much worth noting how [censored]ing intense some of these people are. Numbingly so.
I was there with Mango and I was genuinely worried she was going to get stalked at some points. There were some serious creepers there. And I am not talking about the Minecraft type.

Wish I'd been able to attend, if for no other reason than to catch up with you guys. While there are moments that make me raise an eyebrow so much that it goes up and over to the back of my head, it's always worth going for those few people I enjoy hanging out with. Plus meeting the two Nigels is always a bonus.
