Still reading Mysterious Girlfriend X It's still great. Still, my speciality isn't so much slice-of-life, which seems to be Stu's field (have you read Onani Master Kurosawa? It's good), but the more Seinen-style "what is happening?!" stuff. So I've decided to watch something I remember the commercials from when I was 8: Boogiepop Phantom.  Great show. Something like 14 episodes plus a film. It takes till episode 8 for any semblance of understanding about what's going on to appear, but I love it for that. |

 Absolutely crazy how much the anime climate has changed in this country that a series as bizarre as this can get a legitimate release. Highly recommended, this is a very funny comedy. |

Just started watching Madoka. I don't really follow anime or magical girl stuff, so there's probably a lot just going my head. Liking it, not yet loving it.
Really don't like Madoka's voice, though.

Edit: Though having said that it IS a deconstruction of a genre, and if you're not overly familiar with the genre you might not get as much out of it as I did.

Still reading Toradora!, and I was afraid I was becoming a bit disenfranchised with it, but then it did a payoff and then it did this:  and now all is forgiven. Edit: Still not the anime but given the context and tone of this thread I thought it'd be appropriate. Next week, I promise myself, knowing full well I'll probably not get around to it. |

Currently on a drive to plow through my increasing backlog of anime DVDs I haven't watched, making time either on the night or first thing on the morning. Have now employed a practice of sticking to one series at a time so as not to lose my place as I've done with several others.
On with FMA: Brotherhood for now, up to volume 2. Then I'm moving onto Slayers Next, which I must've restarted twice now and not seen it through, then in no particular (or perhaps rough) order, I've got to watch Black Lagoon, Witchblade, Eden Of The East, Birdy Decode, Black Blood Brothers, Mnemosyne, D.Gray-Man and Tower Of Druaga.
If I have time at the end, maybe I'll get round to long forgotten incomplete sets such as the vol 1s of Texhnolyze and Shana, and Gundam Seed Destiny which is one of the earliest series I got and still haven't gotten past volume 3 of the 6 I have.
You may now place bets on the likelyhood of me seeing even that first one through to the end in decent time
