It was a great track Third lap was my fave XD (played that one on the demo myself!) I will admit to rolling Sonic's boat just to set him on fire for a few moments all the time <_<;

Played this at SoS and I really loved how the water areas felt - it isn't just like a reskinned road, your boat responds to the contours and waves. It's really, really weighty and fun.

So it looks like the non-Sega character is Wreck-It Ralph, from that movie what's being done and sometimes has Sonic in it.

I'd have thought Aquarium Park was the best Sonic Colours level myself. Still, looking pretty and rather slick overall, markedly more so than the first game I'd say.

Yeeeah, that was pretty awesome. I have all those nostalgy-feels! :3
I have to say I'm not that interested in the game (I suck at racing games, plus I have no friends to play it with! XD) but if they did release a soundtrack I think I'd go for that. By the sounds of that article it would seem a lot of love went into it.

Got this today, after not even realising it was actually out this week. It's an improvement over the first title in every single respect - which is impressive as the original game was still really good.
The atmosphere and 'feel' of the levels so far is pretty awesome, too. I'm loving the battleship one so much, and the Sky Sanctuary level does its damned best to make you forget that you're just doing the Superman 64 'Fly Through Rings' [censored] by being completely otherwise awesome.
The leaning towards the wub wubs for the original music and remixes I could live without, but the game still (mostly) sounds pretty awesome regardless.
Possibly on the road to being my favourite racing game ever.
I hope next time, though, Ristar drops the flag and finally becomes a [censored]ing playable character and that we get less stupidly out of place advertising of dumb crap like NASCAR and "Cashing in on the Geeks that made this year one of the biggest in cinema history" The Movie.

I know why you want to do that. I do.
I love that a load of courses in the game actually manage to feel like I'm playing a level of the game its based on.
My only gripe is that there seems to be quite an AI leap between C and B classes.
Also Ricard Jacques needs to do all the music. In everything.

Also Ricard Jacques needs to do all the music. In everything. I've been saying this for [censored]ing years and all everybody ever brings up is the Sonic R soundtrack. Which is ace anyway. I love Jacques. He did loads of stuff that makes me all misty-eyed.

See, when it comes to Richard Jacques, specifically his work on Sonic games, I maintain two notions:
1) His Sonic 3D soundtrack wipes its arse with his Sonic R soundtrack (though even that's still pretty good).
2) There must be longer versions of his 3D soundtrack in existence; the ones put in the game don't sound complete.
These scant accounts have admittedly sparked a small interest in this game for me, now.

Even though I prefer the MD Sonic 3D soundtrack, Jacques has always done brilliant music. Always.
I joygasmed at Sky Sanctuary/Back in Time mix
Bit more detail. The courses feel surprisingly long the first time you do them. And most of the time the course changes every lap. So you never really get bored of them. A lot of life in them as well.

My copy of this was supposed to arrive yesterday, but didn't show up. Bloody Amazon...
EDIT: Got it today and played through the first act of the World Tour. I really like this mode; it kind-of reminds me of Metropolis Street Racer and the Project Gotham series, with all the different challenges outside of racing, so it's certainly keeping my interest.
Had a proper nerd-gasm with the intro, what with Vyse and Gillius Thunderhead on the Panzer Dragoon track. Also liked the remixed Sonic CD music on the first track; hope there's more music to unlock and you can pick which tune you want like in the last game. The fanservice so far is fantastic; the AfterBurner track gave me a giddy little thrill (though I was disappointed with the Splash Wave remix on the Outrun track).
I like that the vehicle-switching mechanic is much more substantial than it was in Mario Kart 7, but the water racing feels a bit fudgy and "sticky" to me. I don't feel like I'm racing on water, more like syrup. There's still no better example out there than Wave Race 64. Flying, however, is a ton of fun and those sections are great with some really thrilling moments.
Oh, and the tarmac racing's pretty good too. The driving model's nice and solid, and I think the more arcade-like racing gives the game its own place among the serious petrol-head racers and the tighter karting games.
The weapons, however, suck. They just suck. Not because they're pretty much the same as Mario Kart weapons, as that's a pretty pointless complaint by this point. They suck because they're not tied in to any particular Sega game which really feels against the spirit of the game. Shooting someone with a remote-controlled drone has nowhere near the thrill of hitting them with a red shell, and while we may complain about blue shells I'd take them any day over the god-awful tornado weapon.
Still, liking it so far.
DOUBLE EDIT: Going swiftly through the World Tour (just doing everything on B class right now, which seems hard enough), and got Knuckles up to top level.
Am I the only one who thinks they should've stuck Danica Patrick in the Hornet from Daytona (if she had to be a part of the game at all)?

I dont think so because basically his 3D soundtrack was done in a weekend or something similar. Those were done a weekend? I did not know that. I think this guy has now gone up even further in my estimation. The reason I say they don't sound complete is the odd, sudden points most of the stage tracks suddenly fade off. Exceptions being both of the Spring Stadium anthems and the Special Stage music, which play out to a finish. The most jarring examples I find of this are Rusty Ruin act 1, which fades right as it seems to be building to a crescendo, as well as the act 1s of Gene Gadget and Panic Puppet, which are quickly faded shortly after they enter into new sections.
