So like me if this was your first sonic animation, and your personal fave out of all the sonic series. I was wondering what your personal favourite episodes a are? Mine are super robotnik as the jokes and animation was incredibly fluid, not to mention done by the Warner bros department. Oh and I allso loved the chaos emerald Saga. And I rember loving the ep ( can't rember what one it's called ) where robotnik hypnotises every one with tv do he can become mayor or something.
And of course your worst episodes too my personal hated one is beaver babies annoying character and rubbish plot

I saw some episodes. But my real first animation was sonic x. I believe I saw a lot of wacky things in there. Like....Robotnik's mother....O.o and Tails acting like gelous of Sonic when that Breezy (that's the name right) character was around. Wasn't bad. Fun I suppose....

Loved AoSTH. Bought the boxset and found out that sometimes you can't go back.

I got the box set and spent an entire night watching all of it.... time well spent. TBF there are a few clever jokes in there.

My favourite of the Sonic series by far. Don't get what people see in SatAM, to be frank. This is where it's at.

One thing I have noticed is that A lot of people fro the UK and europe seam to prefer this show Over SATAM, where as a lot of people in the USA prefer SATAM and have a distaste for AOSTH, whats up with that? they where both made by an american company with an american audience in mind? :S

Perhaps people in the UK tend to be more fond of AOSTH due to how much earlier we got it compared to SatAM? In the US, I think both cartoons debuted at the same time. Whereas in the UK, Channel 4 started broadcasting AOSTH in autumn 1993, and it was only about a year later that they began showing SatAM. I remember it well - as a huge fan of AOSTH at the time, I was horrified when I saw that SatAM intro pop up for the first time! I got used to it though, and began to enjoy both cartoons. (Does anyone know if the satellite children's channels began showing SatAM before Channel 4 did? I know that when we got cable in 1995, AOSTH was being shown on TCC.) The best thing about the cartoon was definitely Long John Baldrey. By far the best Robotnik voice! For anyone that's never seen it, here's the animation section of Milton Knight's website (the guy who came up with the "target" design for Robotnik). And the page with his Robotnik model sheets. I've just had a look at the episode list on Wikipedia. The US airdates listed there seem strange to me - did it really take three years for the whole series to broadcast in the States? I remember most of those episodes from late in the run being broadcast in 1994! (The four Chaos Emerald episodes, for example.)

I don't believe they did. I remember being absolutely [censored]ing baffled when they just started with SatAM the week after AoSTH on Channel 4, with no announcement. I was like, "why have they ruined it?"

I had a similar reaction to some of you guys, disappointment that they'd ruined the show when they aired SatAM instead. I mean, it was still Sonic so it was cool, but I never enjoyed it as much. Maybe I would now. I dunno. I have the DVDs but I just can't be arsed.

I dont remember the switch specifically, but I do remember SATAM being on and not taking to it. My brother seemed to prefer it, in retrospect I appreciate it a little more now though.

I never got into SatAm, and that initial shock of "THIS ISN'T THE RIGHT SONIC SHOW BRING IT BACK WAAAAA" is probably the root cause.
Mind you, ten years later and with an open mind, I still couldn't get into it. (I haven't tried rewatching AoStH outside of brief clips though. That may be for the best...)

Its more a case of "well its better than Underground" sort of thing. AOSTH>SATAM> the other ones. I think it wins second places purely because its familiar to me.

Ha underground , I rember being at school in year 7 when my freind was in a que at lunch and he said " you know gmtv said there anouncing a new sonic cartoon tomorow" I was so surprised, I watched gmtv the next day for the anouncment to find out it was sonic underground. ....... I turned the tv off right there and then. The same bitter dealing I'd disappointment and sadness hung over my head like the first time I saw the Satam intro in wha should have been according to that weeks radio times AOSTH

There's literally no difference in quality between SatAM and Underground. They're both wastes of time.

There's literally no difference in quality between SatAM and Underground. They're both wastes of time. But SatAM is DARK and SERIOUS and MATURE so you have to recognise it's the best!

Hello BW1979.
I can kinda see why SatAM is popular, but 'taint no Sonic cartoon. Underground is horrible. Horrible.
As for AoStH, I really cant remember any of it.

Sonic Underground was the only Sonic series I watched during its initial run. I must have either not known about the first two cartoons (didn't start collecting STC early enough) or just slept in 'til the afternoon... I've still not seen a single episode of SatAM. Maybe a couple of AoStH on a Sky channel 'round someone's house but that's it. I've seen more Sonic X than anything.

It fair amazes me that it took until Sonic X to think "Hey, why don't we do a cartoon that actually references the games?"- and even then the games were about ten years old and yet the stories had characters from a year or so in them.

With that in mind sonic x was still a pile of rubbish catering to the younger audience. Doesnt any body know, we oldies will never let go of sonic stuff the newer generation were far more important

I prefered Sonic Underground (I pretend the songs don't exist) because at least it wasn't stuck in the same bloody forest all the time and we didn't have Sally & Antoine. (But we did have Sonia's voice, sadly)

I prefer Sonic X to SatAM/Underground by some distance. I still wouldn't watch it again. AoSTH is still hilarious to look at.
