Anyone remember this book, novel even?
Curious to read it again for nostalgia's sake, but I doubt anyone's uploaded it. >_>

Still got a copy of it at home somewhere, albeit in fairly tatty condition. Pretty enjoyable, albeit a little confusing when you get so far in as it becomes a bit of a clusterfart of movie references, not all of which I got at the time. Would probably understand it better if I tried again, though it's saying something that I got the gist of Fourth Dimension more than I did this(!)

Fourth Dimension was better. That's a great little book. Someone did fanart of Arctur once, it's the most obscure thing I've ever seen. Only ever found the one sketch, though.
And the one with the Street Fighter parody where everyone turned into Mario. That was a weird one.

Silicon Warriors was great. Even though it was a VERY thinly veiled Tron ripoff.

I remember finding it kinda funny in parts, also that it seemed to follow the "Stay Sonic" background story and featured a certain "Porker Harris" and Johnny Lightfoot. Hmm... so which came first, eh?

Of the four books, Forth Dimension was easily the best, a well told, well paced story that doesn't use many terrible references or characters. Silicon Warriors was also good, but there a lot of computing jokes that would go over the head of most kids. Then there's Robotnik's Laboratory which is generally forgettable, and Castle Robotnik, which was so much of a cluster[censored] that I never even bothered to finish reading it. =/

Robotnik's Lab for forgettable? Clearly you jest.
Sonic the Waffle Cannon is the greatest thing in the history of this franchise.

My primary school had Forth Dimension in the library section and I recall getting it out a few times and loving it.

I can't remember how it happened either, only that it did.
The fact that it has a chapter of Tails doing a Rambo 'storm the castle' assault sequence wielding Sonic (who has been turned into a toaster) as a waffle cannon with the heat turned up is enough to solidify it forever in my mind.

The fact that it has a chapter of Tails doing a Rambo 'storm the castle' assault sequence wielding Sonic (who has been turned into a toaster) as a waffle cannon with the heat turned up is enough to solidify it forever in my mind. It's only you just now saying it that has refreshed my memory of that happening. And yet, I still say it's forgettable due to the simple admission that I cannot remember anything else about that book. I remember the plot of Forth Dimension thoroughly through regular reading of it, Silicon Warriors stuck in my head for the longest time for involving everyone else becoming videogame pastiches (though I read it not too long ago, so it's fresher in my mind than the others are), and despite not even finishing Castle Robotnik, I still remember there being a bunch of D&D/Gauntlet inspired characters lurking around said castle. So no, I don't jest that Robotnik's Laboratory is forgettable, due to the simple fact that I can't remember anything about it, but I'm going to have to ruddy read it at somepoint soon now...

I had all of the books except Sonic and the Silicon Warriors, which I would like to pick up. I remember really enjoying these as a kid. Well... Actually, I read the first two, and refused to read Castle Robotnik until I got Silicon Warriors.

I thought these were great when I was a kid. I'll have to re-read them.
Anyone have the Adventure Gamebooks? Anyone have the one with the printing error that sends you to the wrong chapter, rendering some playthroughs unwinnable?

I've still got Zone Rangers kicking around somewhere.
It is legendary for the very first question permitting you to be run over by a bulldozer.
Oh...90's...

I remember being given the choice not to save Sally Acorn in one of them. Muahahahahha!

I read through Sonic vs Zonik (I think), the one based on Sonic 2's Zones. It was a great run but I was rubbish at it, so I remember skipping things like rising water levels and poison. Still never finished it so it might have been that one?

I only ever bought the first adventure gamebook, but I still have all four "Martin Adams" novels. The Sonic the Toaster sequence from Robotnik's Laboratory was clearly the highlight of the series. I also remember that that book contains a sequence where the imprisoned animals discuss the difference between metaphors and literal meanings - very educational! I really loved those books. But then again, at the age I read them I considered the random capitalisation in lines like "They needed a Plan. Preferably a Really Clever Plan" the height of wit. (Must be why that's the only phrase I remember from any of the books.) I bought three of the books quite close together, but then I couldn't find ...In the Fourth Dimension for years. So, back in 2000 it became my first ever eBay purchase. It was worth the wait; definitely the best one! I was never really that interested in getting the gamebooks beyond the first one. I preferred Choose Your Own Adventures, which didn't use dice and therefore meant both hands could be free to use as bookmarks at various points in the decision tree. ;D Pretty enjoyable, albeit a little confusing when you get so far in as it becomes a bit of a clusterfart of movie references, not all of which I got at the time. There's a bit in ...In Castle Robotnik that contains references to the Cenobites from Hellraiser. There was no way I'd ever heard of that film at age 9, much less knew what the monsters were called - and yet strangely I can't remember ever not knowing that that was what they were a reference to!

I remember having Stay Sonic, but I seem to have lost my copy of it. Same with the Zone Zapper gamebook; never did pick up the rest.

Ok so apparently if you just search 'sonic adventure' in the books category, you get a lot more results. Now bought every one <3

Castle Robotnik is the only one I never got! And yet, I somehow forgot Tails doing a Rambo 'storm the castle' assault sequence wielding Sonic (who has been turned into a toaster) as a waffle cannon with the heat turned up How could I forget that?Fourth Dimension is an interesting one because it does the Return Of Chaotix twist on Robotnik's creation before Return of Chaotix. And, y'know, dinosaurs (and Cinos is an awesome idea when you're eight). Silicon Warriors I like more, because I get more of the jokes. And I liked quite a lot back then too. Love that RAVAGE tank.
