I do wonder what they're adding. I am a Sega insider, so I can confirm with 100% accuracy what feature will be added to this port: Nothing. When I am proven correct, you will KNOW I work for Sega.

(NiGHTS is) better than SA2. The saddest part is, it's actually not.

Even though this thread has been filled with mocking and derision, I should point out SA2 features three of my favourite Sonic tunes of all time so that's something.

If we're talking songs, it also has three that were taken from SA1 and horribly butchered (although It Doesn't Matter isn't as bad as the others).

Coincidentally, all three are in Generations.

Coincidentally, all three are in Generations. Yeah, they are excellent. But no, I much prefer SA1's version. Then again, I am unshamedly a 80s-kinda guy. I just found it odd that they took the songs and completely retooled them without changing the lyrics. Believe in Myself is just a trainwreck, I honestly can't listen to it for long. The rest of the SA2 soundtrack's pretty forgettable for me, probably because there's so many levels. Not as bad as the Shadow game, though.

I find the only levels I disliked the music on are the shooting levels. The Sonic/Shadow/Knuckles/Rouge levels I find generally listen-able.
Mind you I also quite like the Shadow soundtrack.

You know what level I hated with a passion in adventure 2? Pumpkin god dam hill, such annoying music and frustrating level design I hated it so so much.

I never found SA2's soundtrack memorable, save for a couple of songs that I find so bad they're impossible to forget (City Escape comes to mind; yeah, everyone loves it for some reason, but I just find it corny). The biggest problem I had with the overall soundtrack was that it made no attempt to really fit with each level, a complaint I certainly couldn't level against SA1. It just sounded really generic, out-of-place and entirely forgettable (leaving aside the aforementioned examples).

E.G.G.M.A.N. is also a great theme.

That is indeed a catchy tune, I love the fact that there is a "Robeatnik" mix! XD I never really liked the Knuckles' themes though. :s Amy's theme is just bizarre.... something about shaving?!

I liked the jungle/D&B stylings of Everett Bradley from that game, normally accompanying the black hedgehog. Which is unusual as I didn't much care for "I Luv U Baby" and much of his other material in general. With the notable exception of "Power Off! Power On!" from Lammy, which was pretty sweet.

I actually think that SA1 beat SA2 completely out of the water regarding Soundtrack too. I thought Sonic Adventure 2 had far too much emphasis on rock and vocals compared to Adventure 1. At least Adventure 1's stage themes really suited and complemented the environments really well, just listen to "Snowy Mountain... for Ice Cap" and "At Dawn ...for Speed Highway" for example.
I'm not saying SA2 had a bad soundtrack, Pyramid Cave and Green Forest were awesome, but I felt it was far too much of the same stuff.

I think one of the main reasons that the fanbase raves about the game is something to do with the story....
Am I missing something of great value here?

Warning spoilers for an 11 year old game. This is about it, really. I mean back in the day I enjoyed the story. Its bad, but I did think it was more watchable than some of the Sonic cartoons. But now the game gives small children cancer. And that's a bad thing. So the story is bad and anyone who likes it is a bad person.

When that thing and that scene and I almost cried and..." sigh...... I just played through through the HERO part of the game just now...and god it's worse than I remember, the dialogue just seems way worse and the plot holes seem more apparent. How did Amy know Sonic was on Prison Island and how did she get there? Also why was she even in the game? I also rage quit that Knuckles level...Mad Space I think? It's [censored].

Amy is a Tarot reader and pretty much knows where Sonic is because of the cards. (Seriously)

She has a tracking beacon hidden in Sonic's spikes that she put there one time she actually managed to hug him.
As a result EVERY hedgehog has a tracking beacon.
Amy also has a jetpack that lets her follow Sonic around with ease.
Also she's a loony who travels through plotholes.
The end.

She probably found out about Sonic's arrest the same way Tails did. Namely, TV. As to how she got to Prison Island... she used a cheat code, the little b*tch!
