To be honest, I kind of hope they don't try and pack it to capacity. Better that 1000 people have a great day than 2000 people are miserable about crowding and heat.

Speaking from experience, lining up for a ticket on the day is the last thing I would advocate to anyone thinking of going on a whim - granted things might have improved two years on but my faith was surely tested...particualrly the "congrats you made it into the building now sit up here and watch other people enjoying themselves for another half hour lol" portion of the crowd control measures ... Oh, who am I kidding, I was greatful of a sit down and somewhere to eat my lunch really!

I was just too late I think, so missed out... but if they went in 6 seconds... yeesh!!
I'll try again on Sunday.
Was it like this last year? A mad scramble for a few tickets?

Question to ShayMay/BDM/anyone else who got a ticket. What did the application form consist of? I find it exceptionally difficult to believe an entire wave of tickets sold out in six seconds, unless the form consisted of "type one letter, click a button" or something.

ShayMay Yeah, it was just click a button, really. You fill in the form after that.

ShayMay Alright, keep yer hair on! Yeah, it was just click a button, really. You fill in the form after that. So more "hogged in six sconds" than "sold", really. No pun intended

I find it exceptionally difficult to believe an entire wave of tickets sold out in six seconds, unless the form consisted of "type one letter, click a button" or something. They "streamlined" the process so you type in how many tickets you want, then the system checks if there are that many left before you fill in the main details. You can take your time over that but I think the phrase they used was "don't take the piss!" So that'd be why it was so quick, but still.... yikes!

Last year it was something like 4 minutes, 1.5 minutes, and 30 seconds for each wave, I figured on 10 this time but not 6!

I'm very happy for all of you who managed to get tickets, but i'm never going to be "that guy" who gets a ticket within a 6 second window!

You've still got Sunday's wave to give it a shot! Worth a go right?

Managed to snag one of them tickets. I thought it was some kind of joke when I read on Sonic Stadium that they all sold out in 6 seconds. I was talking to my friend on skype while we both filled out the form, niether of us knew that you basically get a ticket if you make it to the form page in time.
Good luck on Sunday to everyone else seeking a ticket. It's a mad, mad race out there.

I'll probably come along to the after party bit so those of you not going to the con itself, I'd still like you to come!

Looks like I won't be going now because my accomodation plans fell through. I need to stay down in London for both the Friday and Saturday, but I don't know anyone I could share with for both nights. Unless something changes within the next 24 hours, I'll be giving my ticket away.

Sigh... well, something silly happened to me today. I burned myself on a hot saucepan and had to rush to the nearest pharmacy... as I am on my own this week, couldn't get the OH to grab one for me, so I missed the wave. Booo. I'm OK and see the funny side of it! Anyways, have a great time everyone who got tickets.

I did speak to him; he told me he'd only booked a room for yourself and him. ahh, we were looking at a larger room, but then we had to move thing to a different hotel... Pete must not have been able to sort that :/ (I left the booking to Pete, because he was just a swell guy like that) if it any consultation, the price for a room was a lot cheaper than I was expecting more than half what we paid in 2011

Well, guess I'll be giving my ticket away then, or at least letting SoS know I won't be going.
