I feel I should ask this one, just to clear it up and as a JUST IN CASE.
Should Archie drop the ball and Ken somehow win his original characters do not steal argument... and Archie's Sonic actually does go down the tank (The fact that man got copyrights on his gender swapped Knuckles recolors leaves me no faith in the Justice System)
Would you guys be willing to integrate some of Archie's ideas/ storylines in order to keep up the torch/give the stories closure or just wave it goodbye?
Asking as I look at the news articles and the multiple talks about reboots and how long this case bull [censored] has been going on... if we had to prepare for the worst... would you guys be willing to pick up some of the slack from them? I really want to see the answers to this one.

I don't assume I can speak for the STCO team but- even if it wouldn't be a legal minefield, which I reckon it would- I have to guess it'd almost certainly be a no. STCO has an abundance of its own ideas to deal with in the first place; and the core STC fanbase isn't necessarily the same as Archie's- and to reverse it makes it even less so. It'd please nobody, ultimately.
Plus, tbh, I don't think anything will happen to Archie's Sonic. Regardless of what happens with Penders, he can't control who Sega give their licenses to.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm not trying to be THAT GUY for asking. But considering Sega themselves didn't jump in immediate seeing Ken's idea to make money off the daughter of their trademarked/copyrighted character and smack that [censored] down... I don't feel all that reassured about how long this comic is going to go on.
As, say Ken does by some Godless fluke, win this. So, what's keeping everyone else who worked on the Archie comic from doing the same and then suddenly, EVERYONE'S copyrighting something.
Because in Archie issue 134, Tekno and Shortfuse DO make cameos! So hey.. if they happened to have crossed that Cosmic Interstate, and see the Penderpocalypse coming and decide on getting some migrants... just want to know if the option was there.

I really wanna check that out! By the way, you're also on the TSSZ News board I remember. I think you know where I'm coming from if you've been keeping up as, with how long this lawsuit has been going on and how Archie had to rewrite a story and remove characters, it's starting to look like he could actually have a chance at winning this. (Because after Archie he's going after EA/Bioware/Sega with his same stories and characters.) So I figured I'd ask. If this series has to get the boot, or soft reboot as I expect the second to happen.... and plotlines and characters and so on get tossed overboard, would they have a life raft in you guys to jump on as a fellow Sonic comic. I was genuinely curious about that. |

I was genuinely curious about that. Most of us don't have a clue about what's going on in StH and don't really have any desire to write about it or its characters. Its universe is larger and more complex than STC's, and most, if not all elements are incompatible with it. I'm sure there would be Archie fans better suited to running their own online continuation if anything. |

I just want to say as a reader, STC/O has always been fundamentally different to all other Sonic media, and I doubt what becomes of Archie would change that.
If what you mean is should STH cease to exist, would there be a STHO? My guess would be probably, there are enough fans out there, and fancomics no doubt...
But STC and STH are very different comics.

Nothing, because Archie were cretins who forgot to have writers and artists sign work-for-hire agreements and deserve everything they get for that. Egmont Fleetway also forgot to do that and then reprinted strips with original characters, without paying the creators - so they should be glad the Nigels, Richard, and Lew didn't have time to sue. |

I don't remember that. I do remember someone, can't remember who, getting annoyed at a Lammy character appearing... Personally I don't mind cameos. Archie's had STC ones so why not the other way around?! On the Penders case... ugh... what a mess. But I doubt it will end Archie Sonic. They're already taking steps to avoid Penders' characters, even if it did seriously mess up one of the issues. So I don't think it would take much for them to do a sort of "soft reboot" to work around such problems. |

As to the original question. I doubt that the STCO guys even have enough time to do STCO as it is NOW as well as changing/adding stories based on another Sonic continuity. This isn't a dig but I dont think they do.
