Most people here probably know that Lew Stringer originally tried out to be an artist on StC. His sample page was considered to be too cartoony for what Egmont were doing with the title but he did, of course, get the job of writer for Sonic. Here's one panel from the page. Lew's just put his sample page up for sale on ebay . I thought it might be of interest to some of the original art collectors on here. It's certainly a unique piece. The starting bid is £50 and, as of this post, you've got only 28 hours to nab it.

This is amaaaaaaazing. But yeah, with the starting bid, I can imagine this going up into the 100s! So beyond this poor student's price range! Good luck, everyone bidding!

It ended up at £109.53. I wonder if it would have done better if the last day didn't fall during a bank holiday weekend. EDIT: More Lew Stringer art on ebay (no more Sonic stuff tho) And if you're not following Lew's blog you're doing yourself a disservice. Lots of great British comics history and info there.

I quite like that. It's not the best thing I've ever seen or anything but it's not the worst art STC ever saw either.
