Was a good issue I thought. I don't really like the designs for the Chaotix... well, Vector. I guess it's a mixture of his bulky new design and his older lean design but the holes where his arm sockets should be freak me out. Is his body like a shell or something? Can Vector remove it and then reveal he's just a skinny stick figure? These questions plague my mind.
The Knuckles and Sonic's World strips were pretty good too. Interested to see where the pseudo-Cybernik story goes with Amy. Are their helmets intentionally designed to look like they're some sort of a super sentai team?

I just want to add the Breaking News ticker; it really does make me chuckle. I love the little details like this. :3

Just wanted to leave a quick note to say how fantastic the art was throughout this issue. Seriously, guys, stunning work, a pleasure to read. My fave strip story wise was Amy's. I'm really liking the rogue agent spin you have on her character, it makes things much more interesting. Shocked and appalled to read that this was Team Mobius' last strip!! What!? No! Say it aint so. I will REALLY miss their work.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it all (I have a bad habit of that...) but I think I have a theory about Sonic. I feel like, originally, Sonic's intent was to prove his innocence. When he realised that he couldn't, he went to helping to protect Mobius from the side-lines. Now it seems more like he's trying to figure out how to stop Robotnik, prevent the seemingly increasing threat of Super Sonic, and trying not to get caught at the same time. As for his attitude, considering the stress of being caught and wrongly accused was getting a bit much for him on the first page, perhaps his attitude was to prevent it from getting worse? Maybe if he thought too much about the reason why he had to fight the Chaotix, the stress of it would ultimately be too much. Acting like a total ass and treating the fight almost like a game may of been a cautious act more than anything. Like I said, probably looking too much into it, but that's how I feel about that I quite like this- I've sort of a similar opinion about Sonic's condition at this point. I think the point of these stories is to show Sonic is caught in a cycle of ever decreasing circles- I agree originally he probably would've wanted to prove his innocence, and protect Mobius, but being hunted so ferociously by an entire planet (bar Tails obviously!) and his isolation from his friends is slowly eating away at his options. I now think all his energy is focussed on not turning into Super Sonic- tiredness, lack of sleep and mounting stress levels are all probably making this increasingly difficult. I don't really blame him for being a bit of a jerk- I don't think he's being cautious particuarly, I think he's being pushed into a corner and running out of options, so lashing out at his friends (particularly as they are trying to capture him) is more understandable for me. I'm also OK with the sonic story arc having a stumbling feeling to it- I actually think this is quite deliberate. Sonic is lost- completely and utterly lost. He's lost his friends, his title (Hero of Mobius), his raison d'etre, his home. He's tired, in poor condition and cannot find anywhere to rest to regain his strength. And on top of all of this, he's fighting a demon inside him that's capable of nuking the planet and will show itself if he gets stressed... I really don't see how a stroy arc that progresses issue by issue could portray this well- we'd all be complaining that Sonic is coping far too well with exile, and how is the Iblis story arc going to work if Sonic restores himself and all his friends forgive him? The way I see it is this: we know what happens in the future if it remains unchanged- the Iblis destroys Mobius, and the Iblis at somepoint comes from Sonic. In all previous stories (except running wild) Sonic has eventually managed to control himself enough to change back to himself, but this was at a time where he had a strong friend base, he had a baddie to fight against and was adored by Mobius- a position of some strength I think. However, now the tables have completely turned- SOnic is losing and is getting weaker each issue, so the chance of Super Sonic appearing is getting more and more likely, and I think the weaker Sonic gets the more likely it is that he will be unable to turn back into himself. Perhaps something happens that tips him over the edge and irreversibly releases Super Sonic/Iblis? In fact this makes a lot of sense- Silver and Blaze would have to regonise this and prevent it happening to change the future. So bascially, I really think the writing in the Sonic strips is actually doing a really good job in portraying this... Sonic's in a bit of a mess and it's showing in his behaviour! {EDIT} and Omni giving Sonic a 'get out of jail free' card and getting Chaotix on Sonic's side? Really? That would be so naff...

Yay, someone who agrees with me! I was beginning to worry I was the only one loving how the Sonic arc is being written I'm just hoping Super Sonic makes some sort of appearance beyond a couple panels. I always find it a shame when Super appears for something epic but gets sent back almost right away. 'Course, I may just be saying that because I'm a super Super nut xD

Nah, I agree with ya about Super too. I'm not really fond of Shadow as a concept (especially as he currently stands, I was really hoping that STC wasn't gonna go down the whole 'ultimate life form who just happens to be a hedgehog that looks like sonic before sonic was even thought of which makes little sense' route) and I was kinda upset that Super was used mostly for that arc. Hopefully he'll get his second wind later down the line, but the story has to be just right.

STC doesn't do soppy love triangles...

Hopefully he'll get his second wind later down the line, but the story has to be just right. See, there's been more than one person saying this, which is confusing as that's not at all what happened. The 'ultimate life form' was just pure Chaos energy created by the Drakons. It never had a physical form - it was basically just like an Omni-Viewer. But then Doctor Zachary used Sonic's DNA to clone it a body. That's why he captured Sonic in the first place, and that's why Shadow looks like Sonic. Unless you mean Shadow II, in which case, we'll have to wait and see...

He did, and it still felt kind of distant and annoyingly so. We had the chance to see a much more interesting and rounded Shadow that differed from the games.
I should mention that I certainly don't hate what went down- STC online's Shadow arc is still pretty solid- I just think it could have been so much more. I like where Shadow II's tale might be going.

I dunno, I actually really think STC's Shadow changed him in all the right ways. He was really the anti-Sonic, with brash cockiness being replaced with a cool confidence, and the fact that he was actually, definitively, a villain rather than this wishy-washy 'maybe maybe not' nonsense really cemented him as one of my favourite villains in STC.
Anyway, yeah, horses for courses. I just keep seeing people mistakenly put that the Drakons made Shadow's body, somehow. I do agree that the Super Sonic climax was a bit of a let-down, especially as Shadow said that Super Sonic wasn't a match for him.

That's a fair assessment, but I suppose it's difficult to introduce another anti Sonic styled villain when we already had Super Sonic take most of that role elsewhere. Having said that, we have Silver coming up soon to complete the (un)holy trinity of other hogs, I'm curious to see how his clash with Sonic will pay off- or perhaps with the rest of the gang, in a world where Sonic has pretty much been renounced...

One of the Death-Trap guys, Prank, summons a genie right? Don't genie hosts live for only five years or something? Miraculously surviving Medusa not withstanding, Prank should surely be dead anyway? I mean, how long had he been in Death-Trap before they first appeared and how long has it been in comic-time since their last appearance?

Like the worm that Prank was probably eight or something when he got the genie, since they're all little kids who get genies.
He's probably not even 13 yet...

So that would have frozen him in a state of suspended animation for a while, bypassing any life expectancy.

I was quite surpirsed when Death Trap returned. After thinking about it I came up with the theory that Prank and Totem Billy where still alive after being turned to stone however because they were turned to stone they didn't age so Prank didn't die five years after making the deal with the genie, and Kalus rebuilded his sandy body he then found a way to turn his body back to stone, he then found a way to turn Prank and Totem Billy back to normal.
