no matter what age they are, there are loads of people who would find that offensive. i, myself, am not one of them but I would still be happier not hearing it.

Cream is 6 and she is a girl, but you are right. The high-pitched voice annoys me and it makes me want to listen to Japanease voices without translation.

Aaaannnyyway....lets get out the topic rope and try and pull this thread back to Cream. *Attaches rope and starts pulling* Hey SXs get off the rope, it goes this way!

You have to be quite pathetic to be offended just by hearing a swear word, whatever it may be.
now I can understand being offended if the use of the word is designd to be offencive. eg "your a ******* ****"
but using it in the context of "well thats just *****" shouldnt be offencive at all

SIGH...
If you choose to be offended by swearing, then it is your choice. It's not "pathetic" in the least. I'm not offended by swearing (anyone who knows me know I swear like a trooper ;D) but I know some people who don't like it, so I don't use offensive language around them.
So, in conclusion: 1. if you are offended by swearing, that's fine. 2. if you're not, that's fine too. 3. this topic now sucks.

If I chose to be offended by the word "It" (what can I say, im a big monty pyuthon fan). then would you all stop saying it? or would you think (even if you did not voive the opinion) that I was slightly pathetic?

Yes, but no civilization on Earth (apart from the Knights of Ni ;D) considers "it" to be offensive. The point is that swearwords are considered offensive because of their connotations, not the word itself, whatever it might be, even if the meaning was not intended by the swearer (e.g. b-l-o-o-d-y, the swearing version, means "by the blood of Christ", but when was the last time you heard someone use it like that?) It's the same way that I don't like to be referred to as a "youngster", because I find the term patronising.
Okay, for a slightly more oblique example: if I were to say I didn't like raspberry ice cream, would you consider me "pathetic"? No, you'd just consider me a guy who doesn't like raspberry ice cream. In the same way, people who don't like swearing are just people who don't like swearing. It's peoples' choice that allow them to be offended or not offended by certain words, and you shouldn't mock them because of it.

Cream is the best. they need to kill off Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Shadow and make an all girl series.
Amy, Cream and Rouge.
Scratch that, just make it Rouge.

In the same way, people who don't like swearing are just people who don't like swearing. That example isent the same situation. What it should be is: if YOU dont like raspberry ice cream would you expect ME to stop eating it. of course not. simmilary if you dont like swear words then you shouldnt say them, you shouldnt stop other people saying them Yes, but no civilization on Earth (apart from the Knights of Ni ;D) considers "it" to be offensive. and "civilisations" do not consider most swear words offencive, individuals do. It's peoples' choice that allow them to be offended or not offended by certain words, and you shouldn't mock them because of it. so once again, back to my "IT" example if someone chose to be offended by the word (as ocording yo you its the peoples' choice to do) then that should be respected as much as people being offended by swear words?

simmilary if you dont like swear words then you shouldnt say them, you shouldnt stop other people saying them Ayi...I'm not trying to stop you from swearing, I'm just saying you should consider the feelings of others who may not appreciate it for whatever reason. Ever see Die Hard With A Vengeance? That board McClane is forced to wear in Harlem near the beginning is an example of words being offensive. Yes, in and of themselves they're nothing, just little squiggles, but the connotations - what people know those words to be agreed to stand for - mean. Similarly, some people are more attuned to the connotations of swearwords than others. Thus they get more offended more easily. Thus you should consider them before speaking, if you find yourself in a position with one of them. (Does that make sense? Feel free to fling it back at me if it doesn't. ;D)
