Super: Gold/Yellow, stronger and faster then Sonic.
Hyper: Silver/Rainbow, stronger and faster then Super.

I know you become super when you get all the chaos emeralds.

Super Emeralds: Play Sonic 3 & Knuckles and get all seven Chaos Emeralds <i>before</i> completing all the levels form Sonic 3. Then before you start the Sonic and Kuckles levels, you will see a little sequence of sorts that will ultimately have you going into a Giant Ring before the level (Mushroom Hill) properly starts. You will be taken to a chamber of all seven Chaos emeralds, now far larger and all grey in colour. Jump on one and you will do a special stage (namely the S&K special stages) complete it and the emerald you jumped on will gain colour and you will have "collected a super emerald." Complete all the S&K Special stages to get all 7 Super Emeralds. When you've done that, collect 50 rings and double jump and you'll become either Hyper Sonic, Hyper Knuckles, or Super Tails. Hyper Sonic is basically the same as Super Sonic in the game except 1) is body flashes various colours and not just yellow and 2) if you do a double jump mid game, the screen will flash and all the badniks on the screen will be destroyed. (Hyper Knuckles also does this but only if you glide into a wall and Super Tails doesn't do this, but has four birds flying around him which will automatically attack any nearby enemies) I think I've covered everything.  |

Super Emeralds and Chaos Emeralds are the same thing. It is just that when the Super Emeralds leave the Floating Island they lose most of their power and decrease in size. So Hyper form is simply a more powerful version of Super form because it is using the full power of the Emeralds. That is what they are in STC anyway.

I dont remember ever becoming hyper sonic. I remember becoming super tails when I was on the last part of tails' game on STH3.
I also remember becoming Hyper Knuckles because he sort of has fainter images of himself behind him when he runs doesnt he?

hyper sonic's wicked. he's super fast but can be a pain on sky sanctuary cause he's hard to control.

Anyways Hyper Sonic could also do a boost in mid air in any direction, something like the fire shields fireball boost, only much cooler!

I know super was and super knuckles cause i've got that stroy, though can't remmeber it I don't have proof, but I think Hyper Sonic did appear in Archie; but at the same time 1) Archie has given Sonic a number of levels of Super power (I don't know any of them from the top of my head, but I swear I remember them) and 2) Archie refers to Super Knuckles as Hyper Knuckles to differ him from Super Sonic, although one isn't more "powerful" than the other. Rather confusing stuff from across the great pond...  EDIT: from Sonic HQ's encyclopedia, Archie Sonic has the following "Super" versions: Super Sonic Ultra Sonic Then he can reach an even higher level depending upon the environment in which he is currently in. "In this phase Sonic can adapt to any climate and his body litteraly adjusts itself to the geographical surroundings, giving him an assortment of all kinds of various powers depending on the Chaos Energy in his system and the location and area. In cold areas, he's Polar Sonic, in tropical areas Eco-Sonic, and in desert areas, Solar Sonic. All other places, he resumes normal Ultra Sonic status, an advanced Super Sonic like form and a mix of powers." There doesn't seem to be an actual "Hyper Sonic" in Archie but like I said, what they do have can be confusing.  |

actually they are all the same, super tails and turbo tails are the same its just archie didn't want to give all the super forms the same name. same for hyper knuckles he's really super(in your sonic universe)
