Thought Id bump this topic with my own discovery.
Was blasting through Sonic 2's Wing Fortress Zone as Sonic and as you get near to the area where you go down and get sucked outside onto the boards that break if you jump up as Super there are 3 ring boxes just suspended in midair bit odd

You can also skip part of the level as Super at that point as well. But Hell if I tell you if you only found those rings now...

Yeah, seriously.
Actually, to be honest I don't think I've ever done the level normally.
The first time I played through it I assumed you were meant to walk through the fans XD.

It's an image.
And there's a few places in S&K where you can do that. The first level in particular I remember vaguely doing it. But... I never really saw the point.

I just wanted to do a vid of the SMS Sonic 1 glitch. :/

Yeah I've done that bit of Lava Reef as Knuckles... except I glided, glid, glidedded.... over that gap. Just being pedantic. Anyways there's a few secrets in Lava Reef. At the end of Act 2 I tried to go backwards as Knuckles to find a room with a few power ups but I did die several times trying to find it! XD Also there is a room full of rings including a big'un which I found as Hyper Sonic: the HUD flashes the same colours he does when you are near a big ring so I "followed" it back to the room.

You can get Knuckles into Sonic's Carnival Night Zone Act 2 and face the boss. Just glide across the screen after the speed tube things.
Which is Fun. Just don't go down the final tube. Because you will be stuck there.
And remember. Press up when the barrel goes up and press down when the barrel goes down.

I've been there before, actually, but completely by accident. That was actually the ring that got me Hyper Sonic(I was terrible at finding those things through my first playthrough) in the first place.

Nah, Gens is better. Not prepared to explain why. I find Gens better, but only because Fusion doesn't like my computer and causes it tremendous slowdown when I try to use it. ¬¬

Fusion doesn't look like a pile of crap in full screen. Gens does.

Eh? No it doesn't, it looks stellar. Must be your config.

It can look good in full screen, but it slows it down on my PC, at least. Fusion is far more slow PC friendly.
And Fusion is the only emulator that has dared to claim 100% compatability.

Fair dos. I guess it's a matter of PC performance. Fusion is temperamental for me, but it has its plus sides (32X compatability "out of the box" is a good'un). I'll give it another try tonight.

The only arsey thing about Fusion is finding bios, and theyre usually not far away. I have them if you need them anyhoo.
