Well, the rights to the comics don't belong to you. They belong to the people who created them. It's a bit of a shame that there is so much complete issue scanning about that could inevitably cheat them out of money in the long term.
I can't stop any of you from dealing in complete issue scans but I certainly won't participate in it myself.

most scans are just the main story. Plus of the comic is out of print and Egmont dont own the rights to the comic anymore (from my understanding) then there is no harm done.

How would they get money from them now?

yeah exactly! I think its the fact that we are scanning them in keeps the old comics alive!

The rights to the material never belonged to Egmont though.
The creators could strike deals to bring the comics back into print - which would, of course, benefit everyone - but if it is known that the material is easily available for free on the net, publishers won't be as interested (and neither would consumers for that matter).
(and it is totally illegal anyway... see that copyright notice in the front of the comics, even if it's credited to the wrong people)

the thing is, they WONT bring it back into reprint! besides, like I said people are just scanning the main stories and not the rest of the issues and I would rather have the real thing than a scan any day!

Sure... except this comic was a lot more successful than Transformers ever was, and they brought that back into print - even if it did take ten years.

It doesn't cost a thing at my college, but I don't know if your uni has a kind of pay-as-you-use policy. btw, nobody ever really has to grow up if they don't want to.
