Hello, a little while ago I discovered a MP3 which was interesting and thought I'll share it with the forum. It features Coldplay's "The Scientist" (2002) which will play out of the left speaker and Sum 41's "Pieces" (2004) which will play out of the right.
Here it is: www.jbarkerdesign.com/UML/coldsum.mp3
Anyway, the interesting thing about these two songs being merged is that cord-wise and song structure-wise they are exactly the same. Every verse, every chorus, every bridge and every break is identical (for what it's worth, the words and vocal melodies are different).
In Sum 41s defence, I was talking to a mate and he said that it was probably not intentoinal since the cord structure on both songs is very common. But you should listen to both songs, or PM me and listen to the merged version and make up your own mind. Were Sum 41 riping off Coldplay, or was it just a fluke? But one thing is certain, they do mix quite well.

Maybe it was intentional, but then again, were "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star" and "The Alphabet" supposed to have the same tune?

umm nice comparison, I have herd both songs before and had never relased quite how similar they are, style with I alway saw the two songs a simailar, hwoever I think ths is really nothing like a rip off byt sum, why beacuse last year I took music g.c.s.e and heard so many epopel play somthing so god damn similar, it real is a simple cord structure, and verse chorus bridge structure that works well for reflective, or low beat song, however mayeb they did
