I thought this weeks episode was very good and quite interesting.
I was quite glad they gave the alien some idea of ethics. I was expecting just the normal transformation and subsequent death scene with the journalist lady after the opening scene.
The "Bad Wolf" joke was amusing. I havent seen references before this episode though. Guess I'll have to keep an eye out when I pick up the DVD set of this series. Plus aliens escape plans getting trashed were funny
Glad that dorky boyfriend of Rose's is out of the way. Rose as a character could use a better fella than him. Plus it opens the way to some Rose x The Doctor stuff :3

Heheh, the image of the Doctor in the red seat is rather dubya tee eff mate? Now if only reality TV shows did indeed have blam-o-matics that evicted the housemates from live ¬_¬. And are those robo Trinnie and Susannahs?

The Doctor Who site is brilliant, I know! WILL SOMEONE TELL ME IF THEY'VE PLAYED THE DALEK GAME?! IT'S SO DAMN GOOD!

Yes I played it the other night. it was pretty good for a free game on the bbc site.
But it tends to not respond for me at times... my Dalek ends up running into walls and being hit by those turret things.

And are those robo Trinnie and Susannahs? Yep. And they've got those two in to do the voices, as well as Anne Robinson and Davina McCall.

Damm, the first half of this episode was rather cringe inducing but the last part more then makes up for it.
Thousands of Daleks and they've got some awesome looking ships.

yay - a fun, if pun filled and trashy episode - but still great! Ann droid had a feel of 80's dr who robot design which was cool I thought And of course, next weeks episode looks fabby - who is the voice at the end of the trailer - Davros?

Good grief, what utterly cracking television. Parodies of the insidious Big Brother et al, continuity paid off in the best way, an army of Daleks, another amazing performance from Billie Piper, more non-stop hilarity from the superb Captain Jack (I hope he's a regular next year), some great drama from Christopher Ecclestone, adrenaline, "You've got to be joking", groovy graphics, great music, sublime direction, lisence fee humour, and a preview to die for. I'm very impressed.
I rather hope it isn't Davros. I've only seen him in "Genesis of the Daleks" and random clip shows and odds and ends but while he's a fairly interesting idea in his own right, I think his presence undermines the threat of the Daleks by making them subordinates rather than main antagonists. I think it ought to be someone who's been better trailed within this series, really, though I don't know who would be credible, plausible and dramatic.
BTW, for any BB watchers, does Davine wotsherface really say "You have ten seconds and then we're going to get you!" or was that creeped-up for the sake of the parody?

EPISODE EQUALS WIN
After "The Long Game" I actually thought "Aren't there going to be any consequences? The Doctor's just overthrown an entire regime!" Shows the writers as ever were a step or three ahead of me.
I must agree with Ed that Captain Jack is thrice awesome. The bits with the Trinny and Susannah-bots were hilarious.

I like how they dealed with Captain Jack's sexuality in this episode, the bi references are still being alluded to with out any preaching, or over emphasis.
SFX has some good Who articles in this month. Theres a great interveiw with Brian Hitch, I didnt think he'd done that much design work...

BTW, for any BB watchers, does Davine wotsherface really say "You have ten seconds and then we're going to get you!" or was that creeped-up for the sake of the parody? lol from my big brother watching Davina usually says stuff along the lines of... "Big brother house this is davina you are live on chanel 4 please do not swear" "ED! You have been evicted, you have 30 seconds to say your goodbyes. ED! i'm comming to get ya!" But I think they did creep it up when the doctor stepped into the disintegrator machine, although I think his last line in the episode was something like "Rose! I'm comming to get ya!"

the doctor who website never ceases to amaze me, I wonder if the people behind Big Brother are ok with this.... Yeah, it says "from kind permission by Endemol". And the official Big Brother site has a link to it, which is official approval if ever there was any.

Now, I can't deny that "Bad Wolf" certainly upped the ante in matters of tension, which is certainly welcome as I've found Davis's previous contributions to Doctor Who quite underwhelming. There was some quite effective design, particularly in The Controller's cradle, and I enjoyed the fact that the new Dalek Battlesaucers are a faithful recreation of the originals which date back to the 1964 adventure "The Dalek Invasion of Earth". Even though I've never watched Big Brother, The Weakest Link, or Trinny & Susannah, the dialogue was solid enough for me to enjoy it even though I inevitably missed the in-jokes (but good grief, Captain Jack must have been very uncomfortable hiding that laspistol...). Altogether, a decent episode. A few gripes, though. It was a little underwhelming to see the trio tool themselves up with an Arsenal of weapons, accompanied by a dramatic score, and then not even use them (The Anne-Droid could at least have been given a new haircut). Furthermore, the manner in which the Bad Wolf 'revelation' was handled was extremely clumsy - Bad Wolf references have been blindingly obvious all throughout the series, we don't need its significance being spelled out for us in an excruciatingly laboured "LOOK THIS IS IMPORTANT" manner. An interesting thought about the fact that the 'disintegrator' beams are actually teleporters: if all of the 'deceased' are in actuality handed over to the Daleks, does that mean that we'll be seeing a return of the Robomen too? I know it doesn't suggest it from the trailer, but it would be welcome to find. Another very peculiar tidbit I encountered on the rumour mill - some people have suggested that 'Davros' will actually be... a revenge-seeking ADAM[/b]!
