I can't believe no-one made this thread! Mr Bean is the best comedy character ever made! Talk about. It was extremely successful even thoguh he hardly spoke and now it is into an animated series. talk about him here! I think if I had to choose a favourite sketch it would be a triple tie between: Mr bean driving his car from an armchair on the car roof -Mr bean getting dressed in his car, getting to the dentist-The Christmas episode ;D

Used to love watching Mr Bean when I was a kid, still do on occasions, just seems a little corny now though. The movie was good though. Can't stand the cartoon version.

I can't say I find Mr Bean that funny. A few of the episodes are okay but most of the time I find the humour in them just too repetitive and boring (but I won't be too mean, most of them have at least one laugh). The movie is okay, but the cartoon is god-awful.
Edit - Woah! Almost forogt to purple this post.

I thought the original version of Mr Bean was okay. The movie was good, too.

Ah good old Mr Bean.
The odd thing about this show but which puts it up there with only fools and horses is that its one of the few comedy shows where you can cry when watching it because you sympathise with the character which can only be done if they come across as real or you can relate to them in some way.
e.g. when his girlfriend cries on xmas eve and he gives her what she thinks is a ring only to discover its a hook for the picture! We all laugh and then it turns to tears when she leaves and he doesnt realise because he genually thought it was what she wanted... and theres no one there to pull the cracker.... awww bless him.
But one of the lesser moments that made me laugh was when he finds the nativity playset and starts to play with it and then after the 3 wise men arrives they are followed by a GI joe figure, a tonker truck, a dinky car of a london cab, and then a darek arrives.
the movie was awsome, especailly the parts where he tinkers with the ride to make it more fun, and the bit where the drs think hes a dr of medicine and make him perform an operation!

I would kind of agree with that, both Mr. Bean and Fools and Horses were always an odd fusion of Comedy and Drama. The only thing is it doesnt quite work right. You want to pity the characters or sympathise with them however you then expected to laugh at part of their misfortune. I found with shows like Mr Bean and Fools and Horses that after some drama despite how funny the joke might be I cant laugh at it. The only Fools and Horses episode that makes me laugh is the birth of Damien, because I'm not worried or upset for any of the characters for that episode
The Bean movie was nice but it's not one of the best comedy films ever :\. It has some class moments but thats about it. The Blackadder series and the TV move "Blackadder goes back and forth" pwns Bean

I loved the face he drew on Whistlers mother in the movie! I also think his plan to restore the painting in the movie was genius!
