Oculus.
It had Karen Gillan running around in a nightdress. That would automatically make it the best movie ever, especially since I was watching on a ridiculously huge screen.
It also happens an amazing horror film, half The Shining half Eternal Darkness. Everything a horror film should be, ending with a nice, wet splat.

Adventure Time - Earth and Water. Awww poor Finn, but Flame Princess Queen is badass. Way to kick her evil dad's butt... also Ice King is remembering things, in a sensible order... without his crown. D'awww. :3 I love this show. Also yesterday I watched the final Futurama. Hmmm. Not sure what to think. I love the first run, the second run is not as good but some of the episodes have been passable. This one... was a bit... flat. If I am honest. Nice in some ways, but totally disappointing in others. Needed more Bender!

Last night I watched this messed up Korean film called The Fox Family. I can't quite decide just how insane it is on a scale of 1 to Japan.

I've watched a LOT this Summer, it's been a good summer. Blasted my way through Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood earlier, possibly my favourite anime of all time. Great story, great characters, great opening themes (Seriously the opening themes Hng) and great villains.
Currently watching Korra (yay it's back!) and Devious Maids. Devious Maids is fantastic if you like that sort of thing, it's very much the spiritual successor to Desperate Housewives.
Really just waiting for Once Upon A Time & Revenge to return at the end of the month!

Watched Fast Six last night. It couldn't have been any better than it was. My main highlight was Dom and Hobbs flying clothes-line Claws near the end.

Watched Ring 0: Birthday this week. I had watched it when I was 18 with my first girlfriend and remember thinking it was quite scary but I'd forgotten the plot. After this re-watching, I wish I hadn't bothered.

Golgo 13: The Professional Been a while since I had last seen this and I figured it would make for a hilarious review on my friend Ian's film review website.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, at long last. It was... really damn hit-and-miss. When it hit, it hit hard, but when it missed, it missed atrociously. Basically, first 8 episodes are great, from there to 15 are good, but after that the only thing I thought was worth watching was that climax, which I'm going to put down as one of the best climaxes ever just on how fun it is to watch alone. The time-skip is so strange: it's like a completely different show, devoid of almost all character and charm. It sometimes tries to claw back the feeling of the first section, but the scale is so large, the environment so different, the characters so unlikeable that it never quite manages it until aforementioned climax. Basic example: for the first half, they're fighting some really fun and unique-looking robots with faces on their chests as a recurring motif. Second half, they're stuck fighting bland, black geometric shapes. Special mention goes to Rossiu for becoming the most deplorable [censored] in seven years - I don't think I've ever hated a character as much as him, and any attempts to justify them came far too late to be of any use. Nia's death struck me as being pointless as well. There was no need for her to die at the end there. It just soured an otherwise happy ending. Still though, gets by on spectacle alone.

Samurai Champloo
Don't know why I haven't watched this sooner. Highly recommended if you want a show that's more episodic in nature, than something that has over-arcing storyline. Sharp, witful and stylish, with fun characters and storylines. Give it a whirl if you liked Cowboy Bebop.

Been watching an awful lot of Futurama lately. I just need Season 5 & 6 then my collection is complete. I feel like watching Bender's Game now.

Man of Steel and Avengers Assemble. Because we can't just call it The Avengers. Stupid Emma Peel and her catsuit.
Disclaimer - I have not seen Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. Avengers I felt took a while to get into the action, Once it got there was amazing to watch. Enjoyed it immensely after the slow start. Best Hulk movie by far.
Disclaimer - I am more of a DC man than a Marvel man. Man of Steel. If I thought the first half of Avengers was slow, jeez... but it was more schizophrenic. Is that the word? It jets about the NEW Superman origin story a lot for the first hour, I really liked the Krypton bit, dunno why. Second hour. Great action with Superman, Zod, Non and Faeora. But holy [censored] a lot of people died. If it was real. And I guess thats the problem I have with Man of Steel. Its trying so hard to be The Dark Knight, that it forgets its lol Superman. Zod, also I felt needed to be much more crazier. He only really became a good villain in the last moments and with the final bit of the fight, I cant really explain, its just not really Superman.
I understand the better Superman stories come from having a "dark edge" (Red Son and Injustice) but there doesn't seem to be that reason to have one. Can't help feeling it should have been in a sequel. Like "Superman Arrives" and then "Man of Steel" Where you do that ending. I guess thats the thing.
In short - Avengers - better, more fun movie. Superman - prettier, but attempts to be "epic" and falls flat. Not a bad movie but not an All-Star (tee hee)
I worry for Bats Vs Supers. For several reasons.

Lately I've been buying up the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It's been a while since it's been on TV but it's lost none of the charm.

Hannibal 1x03, I find this show more amusing than disturbing. Hannibal is all like "ooohoooohoo you canny catch me Im gonne eat ye". Well, not really, but yunno. Major plus points to the writing, and the cinematography. Hugh Dancy in sweat-soaked t-shirts and underwear and an abundance of autumnal scenery shots make me happy.

Just lately I have been watching the TV version of Sleepy Hollow on the Universal channel. I find it to be absolutely intriguing where there is a different story following the same plot every week. Next week is the mid-season finale though, which is disappointing.
