What with the older issues of STC having many non-Sonic Sega strips, I often wonder if people here are into Sega as a whole, or specifically Sonic.
I generally tend to stick to the viewpoint that Sega is more than just Sonic. Classic series such as Shinobi, Virtua Fighter and Ecco the Dolphin have all left their mark on gaming, whilst current offerings such as Space Channel 5, Rez and Alien Front all have a certain charm and air of quality about them.
So, what's the view of the people?

sonic forms the biggest part of sega, but there is a lot more to sega, I normally think sonic team when it comes to sonic, and think of nights, burning rangers, billy hatcher etc. but sega, I think of panzer dragoon, shenmue, shining games, space channel 5, the list is endless,

did anyone used to read that Decap attack about all those monsters living with the proffesor?
I used to love that. It'd be cool if the could do another strip about that.
I also used to like that Shining Force one, which was apparently based on a game for the MD but I never played it.
One of my other favourite non-sonic strips was Sparkster the rocket knight.

i remember teh decap attack strip, it was funny, but never a classic. i'd like the other sonic team games to have a strip, billy hatcher would be really cool.

Decap was amazing. I was so sorry to see it go.
To be honest, I've found some of the recent Sonic games disappointing. I like the old Megadrive ones, and I had a blast on Sonic R and the first Adventure game. I seem to remember that Sonic Team had a four fold increase in staff or something a few years ago and they've never been quite the same since IMO.
But Panzer Dragoon Saga, NiGHTS, Shining Force, Shenmue (the first one especially) are all absolute classics. And to this day I'll never understand why the Saturn was so disliked when it had so many awesome titles.

I much prefered SA2 to 1, I donot know why, I just prefered the ftyle of gampley, more liner. better level design, taking out the stupid 'aventure' stages and thankfully only 2 different stories. I mean, each person had one charcter they hate to use in SA, I dint like the amy ones... anyways, I have to agree with the fact sega is more than sonic, I love shinobi and the recent Bill hatcher game rocks Ellie: I love the idea of a Bill hatcher comic, it has all the good comedy and cute leanings needed for a good comic!

It's a shame the Saturn got totally 0wned by the Play Station... so many people didn't get to play great games like NiGHTS, Burning Rangers and Panzer Dragoon Saga. THe Dreamcast did much better though, loved my Dreamcast, especially with games like Shenmue.

it seems that only now are people realising how amazing the saturn really is, and they can't get teh best games cause they're so rare. should have listened to me WAHAHAHAHA. i actually prefer sonic adventure, though SA2 had a lot of nice touces. but I hated the fact that you switched between characters, you would be tearing through with sonic, then you'd have to collect emeralds. it was better when each character had their own game seperate, then you could plya whichever gaem you wanted. also, both sides were too similar, tails was restricted to the tornado in its transfomred state,a nd they created shadowna dn rouge, 2 awesome characters, exactly like sonic and knuckels. think what else they could have done and how much more the game could have been

Okay, I'd say my favourite non-Sonic Team Sega games are: Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force III, Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage 2, Fighters Megamix (fight as the Hornet! How cool?), Virtual On, and so on, and so on...(heh, pun) Of course, though, the star of the show is Shenmue. Not Shenmue I, not Shenmue II. A sort of composite. Because whilst I preferred the story and locations of II (sunset over the Blue Dragon Garden in Kowloon is just stunning, and I loved the creepiness of the abandoned apartment buildings) there is TOO MUCH QTE. I find it frankly insulting that this great 'life-simulator' forces you again and again to press buttons like a lab monkey rather than using your own nous to get through. I can stand a bit, but that part at the end of Disc 3 where you had to do three Command QTEs (the ones where you press a whole sequence) in a row to defeat Dou Niu (spelling?) drove me absolutely mad. Sigh. I've wanted to vent that for a loooooooooong time

actually QTE's never bothered me cause you get the chance to see Ryo perform some really cool moves that you can't see that well when you're just fighting. but both shenmue games are fantastic, problem is, ithink everyone now knows my problem with dubbing now. shenmue is dubbed and it drives me crazy, where shenmue 2, ah blessed shenmue 2, was left in the original japanese voices where the voices actullay suit the characters, and being japanese work with a japanese character.

Yeah I liked that fact too I thought it actually increased Ryo's sense of isolation in a way, cos in the first game everyone's saying things you, as the player (the English-speaking player anyway), can understand, but then you go to China and suddenly everyone's speaking a foreign language. Tis clever. Mind you, isn't the Xbox version English-dubbed? EDIT: I forgot to say, one of the reason the QTEs tick me off is because I have all the co-ordination of a drunk chimpanzee. With no hands.

Shenmue II had bazillions of QTE, and I loved them. I remember the first time it sprung the multiple buttons in one go type QTE, that threw me a little.
Sadly no Japanese on the Xbox version... and they still try to cover up the fact that Yuan is a man XD

Actually the dubbing wasn't too bad in terms of voices, some where scarily like their Japanese counterparts (Yuan for instence). I missed Ren's whiney voice though when he gets angry at Ryo
