Somewhere along the way, arcades really lost the appeal they once had. People tend to over look some of the gems that appear in the arcades and arent on consoles. So here we go.. What's everyones favorite arcade game?
Mine with no doubt is: Metal slug 2.

I would say Metal Slug too but to be different I will say that Simpsons fighting game. I have spent quite a long time playing that game.

True, there's not enough good beat-em-ups these days Turtles In time is my favorite beat-em-up. I might get Ninja turtles 2, just for the arcade games.

Gunblade NY...possibly. That game was awesome.
The ten-year-old me was absolutely fascinated by Street Fighter II and Metal Slug (okay, that one was the thirteen-year-old me). Ah, the days when home games could never match the arcade ones, and the arcade games were the grail of gamesplaying...

I have spent quite a long time playing that game. i thought no-one else had heard of it, but I love that game! ^^ But I prefer the retro(Retrogamer pricks up his ears) Spider-man: The video game. Black cat is the best on it. I've completed it twice with friends, it's just a pity there's no four player. If I had to choose something else, Soul Calibur. Not soul calibur II, Soul Calibur.

Hmm, a toughie....... I love the Metal Slug Games, the Street Fighter series and Darkstalkers etc, but my favourite 2 (I couldn't choose) have to be Sonic Fighters (or whatever they actually called it in the end...) and Virtual On- you were a proper mech pilot!!! (well, almost..)

I think the best arcade game is house of the dead one of the only arcade games I actually played at the arcade

I've played House of the Dead 2 to...er...death on my DC so when I found the arcade version I knew the game well enough to do the old "one gun in each hand" bit. Too much fun. ;D

I would have to say Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, the amount of money me and my 3 pals spent on it to complete it at the Fun Centre.....musta been at LEAST 50 quid over the Summer.
I LOVED that game.
*Tries to jump on the car in it, but hits the windscreen*
All the memories of having great fun in the arcade when yuo started yourself then suddenly youde get further and youde have 50 folk cramming round to see if you made it! HAPPY DAYS
Other favs were X-men: Children of the Atom and Street Fighter 2. SE

I thought no one would mention this game Great game. Street fighter 3rd strike is my favorite arcade fighting game.. hands down. Other goodies: Megaman the power battle. King of the fighters. Sonic arcade (if it could be controlled better)

I'd have to say Silent Scope 2, or Time Crisis 2 with a mate. Gotta love shooting stuff. Especially when you get cool tools to shoot stuff with.

I agree with Gorre. Time Crisis 2 works great with friends.
My favourite for Single Player would have to be Puzzle Bobble.

Local arcades = empty Not a lot of choice of arcade games. I'll have a go at saying Time Crisis 3 (weapon changing!) or House of the Dead III (big shotgun!)
