Oh, I like this. I'm glad they went further with the whole Rebirth thing.

After playing the story mode, it makes me wander how they'll continue with this new timeline.

Easily. Examples/Predictions based on what happens in the story mode. Shinnok invades with the former good guys. Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung are either perma dead or in Shinnok's possession that will envitably stop Quan Chi turning on him. Raiden gets cast down to hell for [censored]ing up the time line/maiming Liu Kang. Sonya and Johnny go to rescue Raiden. Scorpion betrays Quan Chi because he is the one who murdered his family. Fujin leads a new cast of rag tag warriors and they'll be either remade ones from 4, Deadly Alliance and Deception or completely new.

Started story mode yesterday. Was rather stunned at how not awful it is. And how long it is, actually. Was quite surprised when it continued going -after- the tournament.

It covers the first three games, so you've got a long while to go yet.

Mortal Kombat 1 actually continued in Mortal Kombat 2 because Shao Kahn is a [censored] loser. Not really spoilers because its the same excuse that happened way back when.
No one get the guide because Prima [censored]ed up.

Sektor now does Scorpion's fatalities.
They didn't include frame data and damage for each move.
A lot of misprints.

On the MK2 part of the story now, these 2 on 1 matches are killing me, Liu Kang vs Scorpion and Quan Chi - hard!! Goro wasn't that difficult, so long as you stay away from him, I did the fire move and the bicycle kick, and sometimes the flying kick. Killed him, almost got a flawless victory too... bloody ground pounding!!
I'm Jax now, just finished Johnny Cage, gonna kill Jade soon! (By kill, I mean win as there's been Can't wait to play it some more!

I am loving this game. On Sub Zero's part of the story now.
However, it's a bit lame that, for obvious continuity reasons, you cannot perform fatalities in the story mode. When I've been playing a Mortal Kombat game for half a day and I haven't killed anyone, something has gone horribly wrong.

It's either directly after, or you have Smoke in between. Can't remember, but it's not much farther.

Spent ages trying to defeat Shao Khan with Liu Kang in a fair fight. Just wasn't happening.
Found that spamming fireballs on him from as far away as possible basically just makes him stand there and take it until he falls over.
I don't know which is more annoying, that Shao Khan is a broken pain in the neck to the point where you have to do that, or that doing that actually works.

Oh and don't forget he's the final boss of MK3 too. Remember how they made him harder for that game? Yeah, well.
