Beating Goro and Kintaro is actually relatively easy, I think you'll find. It's really all down to timing your attacks at the right moment and not striking when they are performing certain actions. The bosses have some attack patterns that can't be broken and hitting them whilst they are performing those attacks won't stagger them, it'll just get you hurt. But moves such as Goro's jumps and Kintaro's stomps are the times when you can get a hit in. As soon as Goro's feet touch the ground, jump kick. When Kintaro jumps up, jump away and kick as he comes down.

Finally beat them! I was overjoyed beating them lol.
Goro I found easiest to just spam the blade attacks, so up and chop, or right and chop to either pop him in the air or make him fly right. You take quite a decent amount of health off doing that so it'll take a minute or two to beat him (compared to the 5 seconds it takes for Goro to X-Ray and kill you!) but it'll get done.
Kintaro I found the best thing is to stay away from him on the far left or far right, when he taunts to do the projectile move, and when he goes to jump on you do the spinning chop move, if he does the flamethrower, or the fireball duck like mad. That's really effective and helped me no end!
I was so pleased about beating them I just wanted to rest afterwards haha! I didn't do much more of the challenge tower last night, I'm on 204 or 205 something like that?
Also, is it just me who finds it difficult to do the test your might/strike challenges? I cannot just button mash for the life of me, I've always found it difficult! From Fur Fighters on the Dreamcast, to MK:DA & Deception on the Xbox to MK9 now on the 360. Impossible! I always have to get someone else to do it for me lol!

From Fur Fighters on the Dreamcast, to MK:DA & Deception on the Xbox to MK9 now on the 360. Impossible! I always have to get someone else to do it for me lol! It's all about the wrist action. With TYM it's just a case of spreading your thumb across the four face buttons back and forth like berserk. Just try not to think about it too much, ideally at all. The worst thing to do here is hesitate and tense up, you need to be relaxed. Take your mind off it altogether until the challenge begins, then sometime during the clock just suddenly go for it. Often works for me, I can nearly win a full meter every time which will help for the tougher stages. Test your strike is arguably more difficult as it requires precision, so you need to find the correct pace at which to sequence the buttons. These are less frequent, thankfully, but necessary if you're going for 100% completion. In short, there is a simple technique to button-mashing: don't think about it.

Can anyone give me some help for the challenge tower? I've beaten every single one apart from Ermac vs 3 Goros. I cannot do it for the life of me. I've tried spamming the jump-teleport-uppercut attack, but it doesn't always respond for me and Ermac just looks like an idiot kicking the air. I get the most effectiveness from jumping over him and kicking and/or punching him in the head and then uppercutting him, but he just spams his ground pound or his spinning move!

Unexpected and insanely awesome in every way. Here I thought it was going to be something lame like Frost or Tanya. OH HELL YES!
Its official, Ed Boon has won the crown for best Fighter of 2011, if not, the decade.

Heh, that's kind of cool. Admittedly I don't now and never will have any interest in the movies, but I imagine it's made a lot of people happy.
Although I thought Freddy only had one blade-glove-gardening-tool-thingy?

He does. But this is Mortal Kombat baby.
I like Freddy. Well as much as one person can like a child molesting dream killer. Cant help thinking that its the wrong Freddy and if he doesn't have anything witty to say its not really Freddy.

Yeah, no one saw this coming, I'll bet. Still, they went with the remake Freddy's face rather than Robert Englund's face. Oh well...

So, because I'm never knowingly not late to the party, I picked this up for 360 a couple of days ago.
It's rather good! I'm concentrating on the story mode at present (currently up to Kung Lao's chapter), and I'm pleasantly surprised how well it's all put together. The script is genuinely quite good and has made me laugh a couple of times (invariably at Cage's expense, natch). Making you fight tag-teams with just one guy is a bit cheap and there's a tad too much in the way of move spamming (hi Kano's horizontal roll and Scorpion's teleport), but hey.
The actual gameplay's nice and solid - I think I'd've preferred it a bit faster, but it's not too much of a hassle.
The backgrounds are really distracting! They're good, but I keep not paying attention to the fight 'cos I'm watching what's going on in the distance.
I like the little nods to the other games - Motaro cameoing in one scene, Quan Chi making a "deadly alliance" crack, Shang Tsung nicking Joker's fatality.
So overall it ain't no Super Street Fighter IV but I like it.

So overall it ain't no Super Street Fighter IV but I like it. Some people might debate that one. From what I understand Mortal Kombat is apparently a bit cookie cutter though. But I dont know truly. I love fighters but have no real skill in them. I do like they have managed to perform witchcraft and have live updating/balancing without the need for a disconnect patch.
