That wasn't MK Deception. They were holding N64 controllers. (Whey!)

It was definitely deception. And they were on the Xbox. I know it was deception, because Sub-Zero was in his Deception outfit. So nyeh. Samface, in the unlikely event you read this, did you ever get Deception after?

God I love Mortal Kombat! It kicks ass in so many ways! The newer games don't involve the kind of crazed button-bashing combos that Tekken does. Yes, some of them are hard, but still simple compared to Tekken (I hate Tekken).
Scorpion, Quan Chi, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, Kano, Liu Kang, Raiden and Johnny Cage all freakin' OWN!!!

Don't forget Sonya. I liked her. I know it's a cliche, girls picking female characters on MK (like I said, I was always Rayden or Scorpion) but I was rather good with her. Plus I like that backflippy thing she does.

I hated Sonya. No prejudice or anything.. it's just whenever I was against her on UMK3 she would kick my ass.
I liked Kira in Deception, and Ashrah. They were good.

Just last night I stumbled upon a DVD of an episode of Mortal Kombat Conquest for £2.97 at Tesco's. I bought it and was surprised to find it was actually a good programme. Who else has seen this?
P.S. It stars Kristanna Loken, who played TX in Terminatior 3.

It's all about the bike pump of death. The new Mortal Kombat game (MK Armageddon or something) sounds good, apparently Rayden goes bad, or at least gets in touch with his dark side. Not sure what characters are in it though (it does get a little complex with the death and the being resurrected and the possession by Onaga and stuff). Btw does anyone else find Liu Kang REALLY ANNOYING?

Your opinion is wrong. Tekken rocks. Mortal Kombat was very good, Mortal Kombat 2 was legendary, Mortal Kombat 3 was crap, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was an improvement, but was nothing compared to the older ones, Trilogy and Ultimate were almost exactly the same, Mortal Kombat 4 redeemed itself, despite being full of crap characters, Gold was 4, everything from Deadly Alliance and later were utter, utter [censored]. I can understand you saying Mortal Kombat is better than Tekken, but saying that the newer Mortal Kombats are better than all the Tekken games, and that Tekken is rubbish, you have the most wrong opinion ever. My opinion is correct.

Mortal Kombat 3 was poo , Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was an improvement, but was nothing compared to the older ones
It wasn't rubbish! It had some of the best fatalities ever, the storyline was better than MK2, the graphics were better, the friendship concept was great cos it made fun of people complaining the games were too violent...etc.

Ultimate MK3 was good, but regular MK3 was mainly a bunch of new characters that sucked. To add, MK2 had friendships as well. And yes, the MK3 fatalities were pretty good, but I didn't deny that UMK3 was better, but the only new things finishing wise in MK3 were Brutalities, which are the most BORING thing ever, and Animalities, which the second movie came up with such a silly storyline for....
In short, MK2 owns you all, and DA and later sucked.

Have you actually played through Deadly Alliance and Deception for you to be able to say it's rubbish? I'm thinking not, because you say you dislike all later games, however, Shaolin Monks takes place between games 1 & 2, so it's the same story. The only difference is, it's an adventure game. The kombat is still there.

I care not for the story. I played Deadly Alliance, all excited about there being a new Mortal Kombat and find that it plays nothing like any of the others did. What ever happened to just having high and low kick, high and low punch? Now you have 3 fighting styles per character and what not. The story matters not to me.
And I don't think me joking about thinking my opinions are law warrants being called an asshole, thank you very much.

Mortal Kombat is generally better than most beat-em-up's, anyway. Even if the storylines sometimes suck. What character did any of you play best as? Like I said, I was a Rayden / Scorpion girl.

Yeah, I never care about the story. Since beat 'em ups have evolved, I don't think MK was that great, but back in the 2D days of beat 'em up, MK was the best series. In MK2, my favourite, you may have guessed, I was usually Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Rayden, Scorpion or Sub-Zero. I was the master of all of those characters back in the day.
I notice that Johnny Cage doesn't seem to be very pouplar....why is this? I though he was excellent? Either that or I'm too much of an "asshole" to understand the reasoning.

Probably cos he's just an ordinary American bloke rather than a demon / god / undead ninja. Apparently Stryker from MK3 was one of the most unpopular characters cos fans were annoyed that there was a traffic cop in the game.

Nightwolf, Stryker, Kabal and Ermac are some of the worst characters ever introduced.

Stryker, Kabal and Nightwolf were all for the win.
Ermac, though, did suck. That's what happens when you take a bug and try to turn it into a proper character.

What you're saying is, you don't like the fact the game has evolved? That's life, Nights. Things don't stay the same forever. And unlike Tekken MK tried to better itself, and succeeded, whereas all what Tekken does is try to wow people with graphics and new characters and maybe a force mode if you're lucky... what, if anything, is original about tekken 3, 4 and 5 other than characters and a force mode? In MK ever since MK trilogy with its prize selection at the end of each game completion and on into Deadly Alliance and Deception you have; the Krypt, Chess, and Puzzle Kombat as well as an RPG style adventure... Tekken; you get a force mode... and what exactly?
