I saw a Megadrive thing in a store recently. It's got like, Sonic 1, Golden Axe, Shinobi, Dr Robotnik's MBM, Flicky and a bunch of others on it, and it's about £20, I think. It reminded me of that TV Boy thing, only without the suckiness, and with a bunch of MD classics on it. If anyone's near Guildford anytime soon, go into the gadget shop (it used to be called 'What's New', but now it's just 'Gadget Shop'). It's in the Friary -- fairly close to the Disney Store. Have a look and you'll see the Megadrive pack in there, going for about £20. As a matter of fact I might go in there tomorrow for a closer inspection, and possible purchase. I won one from Retro Gamer magazine Should be receiving it soon. And BTW, the TV Boy OWNS. It has over 100 Atari 2600 games. How could it possibly suck?

I might be thinking of another system. TV Boy is the first name that springs to mind....if you say it owns then I'm probably thinking of a similar one.

The Megadrive thing's got Sonic 1, Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Golden Axe, Flicky, Altered Beast and Kid Chameleon.

I'm half-tempted just to see what Chameleon's like, to be honest. Plus it would mean owning Sonic 1 four different times, which would be both cool and sad.

The Megadrive thing's got Sonic 1, Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Golden Axe, Flicky, Altered Beast and Kid Chameleon. It could also be the Mega Games 10 in 1 that had Sonic 1 Flicky Revenge of Shinobi Golden Axe Streets of Rage World Cup Italia 90 Super Hang On Columns And 2 other games Though it probably wasn't.... Agreed about the Kid Chameleon, too. Gives me a chance to play the story behind the game. To keep somewhat on topic, that would be a good game to make 3D on a .....new SEGA System!

This is the game coming out for the ps2? With emulation.. I dont see this game doing to well..

No, that was an old collection of games on a normal MD cart. I have no idea why I typed it now.

Heh, it's funny watching the start of this topic from a Nintendo fan view. Though, I was a Sonic/Sega follower until after the Megadrive.
The facts do show that Nintendo beat the Megadrive with the SNES - mostly because of the BIG selling games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy etc. Though, i'd still stick with my Megadrive if I went back in time simply for Sonic 2, 3 and Knuckles. Sacrificing some of the greatest RPGs ever is something I can do for Sonic.
Anyway... With the Sammy-Sega Merger, Sega does have the cash, along with profits from their third party developing (I might just point out that a year ago, Sega reported their first profits for over 5 years...) to - eventually - go back into Hardware.
If they do, they'll probably do so in about 4-5 years time following the next generation of consoles, but who knows if they will.
Personally, I rather doubt they will, profits or not, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft all still have more money than Sega and can afford to splash out where Sega can't. Leaving them in the same position as they were with the Dreamcast - little support for it.
I'd rather they just put their efforts into making some damn good games instead. Sonic Heroes was a good game (could be better, but good) and Sonic DS is something i'm genuinely looking forward to.
