Use your knife when they're on the floor, as well. Probably an obvious one, that.

Regenerators=scum.
EDIT: RESIDENT EVIL 4 COMPLETE:
Hit ratio: 74% Enemies killed: 895 Number of times killed: 35 Clear time: 22:53'46"
....I suck....
These games have evolved somewhat, since I can complete Resident Evil 2 in under 2 hours with no saves. Well, I guess I got a sucky result, but I bought the game on Monday, so I completed it on my 6th day of ownership.
LEON IS CRAZY! Why the hell would you not want to have sex with Ashley? She is much hotter than Hunnigan!
And for anyone that has the GC version of this game:
Since I know the PS2 version has extra stuff, I wanna know what I have that you don't. In the extras screen, I have 4 things, called: "Seperate Ways", "Assignment Ada", "The Mercenaries", and a movie browser. Which of these were and weren't on the GC version?

Okay, first of all,Regenerators are awesome awesome awesome! I'm so looking forward to the action figure (released early next year). They make me geek out. ;D
Secondly, Ashley is whiny jailbait with a face like a rat. And Leon still has feelings for Ada.
And thirdly, GC owners don't get 'Separate Ways', and the movie viewer. We also don't get Leon's Chicago gangster outfit. The rest (including Assignment Ada and Mercenaries) are present and correct in the GC version. In other words, the PS2 exclusives aren't that great.
(edit) Oh, and the PS2 version also has a very easy mode where Ashley can't get hurt or captured. Takes a lot of the tension out, apparently. Even in the GC version, Easy mode sucks because you miss out on some great set-pieces like the hedge maze bit.
Well done on completing it!

I didn't know Leon had a Chicago gangster outfit....and I didn't play it on easy. Why am I still using sopiler text?

I don't have a PS2 so I gotta ask... what is Seperate Ways?

I don't have a PS2 so I gotta ask... what is Seperate Ways? Well, I only played it for about 5 minutes, but from what I did, it seems that you are playing the game, but as Ada, not Leon. You're doing what Ada did whilst Leon was playing through with his business. Kind of like in Resident Evil 2, whilst Leon is doing mission A, Claire is doing mission B and visa versa.

In the first Resident Evil (I'm playing the remake) I'd like to find out who S. Ross is. (mentioned in this sentence in the Security System manual:)
Sanitation Division controls the usage of the prison. Consultant Researchers (E. Smith, S. Ross, A. Wesker) must be present if virus is used.

I think it's just a random name of no importance. Could be wrong though...

BTW, I'm up to the part where Jill finds Chris in the prison cell, and after a lot of searching I found that the lift in the courtyard mine had broken down. But when I try to go through the door where I found Enrico again, the game freezes up! I hope this isn't crucial as I've worked so hard to get this far. Am willing to read a spoiler to see how I can (or would have) progress.

You have gone horribly wrong if you're trying to go back to the courtyard and you've already found Jill....
Once you enter the lab there is absolutely no need to leave it untill the place is gonna explode. Would it help if I posted that in the Explosions Thread?

Little titbit of info...go to Resi 4's official site (head to residentevil.com and follow the link) and on the "Enter" screen it has a countdown.
"Evil evolves in..."
-364 days 3ish hours when I looked.
HMM.

No, it's counting down from there. Indicating Resi 5 will be released on January 8th 2007.

It had better be. And if it is a shade worse than Resi 4 then I will shun them.

Have a blurry Deadly Silence box cover. There it is! They're not using the original PS1 cover. Jamie must be gutted. Also, Play.com notes it as being released on the 31st of March.

Damn, I should probably buy one of those DS things.
I heard a rumour somewhere that Resi 5 is going to centre around surviving in a very hot/sunny environment, taking into account things like dehydration etc. Dunno if that should be taken as gospel though.

I wonder why they even bothered with Deadly Silence. This is the 3rd verison of the first game made. Just how many more do they intend to make?

1. PS1 version. 2. Saturn version; same as the PS1, but with a 2 player mode. 3. Resident Evil: Director's Cut; PS1, with extra stuff, as an apology for the lateness of Resi 2. 4. GC remake. 5. Deadly Silence.
I have high hopes for this. Playing it wherever I am could be fun. I sincerely hope they release Resi 2 and Nemesis to the DS. I care not about extras and using the DS' features, I just wanna play the games on the move.

And that's not even mentioning the canned Game Boy Colour version!
I'm playing through Resi 4 again. Just learned that you can use the knife to spring the bear-traps. I'm lame.

Just learned that you can use the knife to spring the bear-traps. I'm lame. Really? Didn't know that. Hey, I don't suppose there's a site out there that hosts the FMV clips from the games, is there? I want to see the scenes added for Code Veronica X but am too cheap to buy the game just for them.

Really? Didn't know that. That makes me feel better. I was stabbing a guy on the ground rather furiously and I caught one of the traps by accident. No more tippy-toeing around for me! Regarding the FMVs, I don't know any sites that do that.
