B&W was the worst in the series for grinding, forcing ages of grind after before the first three gyms Gen IV was pretty bad for this too, I felt. In fact, the grinding is what prevented me from being arsed from finishing Gen IV. Gen III had an unusually high spike about half-way through the game too, in my opinion. You seem to stroll through the game then reach Norman and he absolutely spanks you up and down the block.

Basically, so long as you take on every battle you can (with the obvious exception of like, level 2 Rattatas at level 30), you should never, ever need to grind. I've certainly never needed to.

There are instances throughout the series where that fails though. The aforementioned battle against Red, for instance is just not possible without grind - in either the originals or remakes. The most common culprit is the Elite 4, though. Sinnoh and Unova both fall into this trap, with the Elite 4 being up to 10 levels higher than the trainers and Pokemon you face in Victory Road.
In the bulk of the game though, you're usually set so long as you don't start avoiding battles. If you're underlevelled at a gym match, you should go back and see if you missed something.

www.joystiq.com/2012/04/20/pokemon-ar-searcher-updated-pokedex-3d-coming-to-3ds-eshop/New 3DS download game announced and an update for Pokedex 3D incoming. The AR game thing actually sounds pretty cool - albeit about a year late for the 3DS' 'AR craze' to really grab it. At the very least you can transfer Pokemon you 'catch' in it to Black 2 and White 2 (probably through link transfer, rather than anything cool like B/W2 recognising they're on a 3DS and checking your save file or anything) and it looks to be worth the fairly cheap price. Will probs be between £2 and £3 when it comes out here. Pokedex 3D's update, on the other hand, adds a few more Pokemon to the original app (ideally, all, but that's not confirmed), and hasn't been said to add any more features or functionality outside of the standard 3D model viewer thing. This update, however, will firstly cost money, and secondly cost a [censored]ing LOT of money. Nintendo will be asking for the equivalent of $18 when it comes out in Japan - making it the most expensive thing on the 3DS' store - more than 3 times the price of the actual games they've released to it like Pushmo or the Armadillo game. So, yeah. Totally worth that £250 upgrade that 3DS was...

An incredibly showy 2d fully animated trailer type thing for B2W2. Sorry you'll have to tolerate my tumblr as a link, I dunno if there's a youtube version yet, but ignore that, check it out XD -> feniiku.tumblr.com/post/23145289412/lameryo-fiztheancient-heres-that-pokemon-bw2
There's even a translation under it someone added Never mind the games, that advert is awesome EDIT: have a youtube version instead translation copied from lameryo on tumblr: N: What will the path you and your Pokemon will take be, I wonder? Rival: All right! Let’s go get our Pokemon! Male Protag (Black2): Yeah! Black2: Hey, are you…? Bianca: Hey! I’m so glad I caught you! Bianca: Tadaa! The Pokemon that will become your partners are in here! Akroma: Team Plasma once said that we should recognize the potential Pokemon hold, and free them from mankind… Akroma: I… think otherwise. Elesa(?): Welcome to this stage! Between my dear Pokemon, and your Pokemon… let’s decide which shines truer… Elesa(?): …Right here! Team Plasma: (laughter) I’ll commend you on getting THIS far. But there’s just so many of us here… so hurry up and surrender! Rival: I’ll just say this… Starting now, I’m gonna get mad. Cheren: Jeez, at least they’ve got quantity. This is going to be really troublesome. Rival: We’re getting this over quick. You better pitch in. Black2: Of course! Plasma Grunt: Seviper, Bite! Black2: Arcanine, you use Bite as well! Rival: Samurott, Ice Beam! Black 2: Stop! Black 2: Lucario! Aura Sphere! : We achieve our objectives, through whatever means necessary!

So is that any GAME or Gamestation store then? I don't have to travel halfway across the country to get one?

According to Serebii, any store. Which is handy.

According to Serebii, any store. Which is handy. Very handy. There's still a GAME open in the next town, so might take a trip through. Was needing to pick up some MS Points, anyway. Also, there's a big update for Pokedex 3D, if anyone still has it. Apparently it unlocks every function and lets you get every Pokemon's data, even the ones that you needed to trade for before. I've got the update, but it hasn't downloaded anything via Spotpass yet. I dunno, maybe I have to wait until tomorrow. If they don't let you transfer your data to Pokedex 3D Pro though (I dunno if they will or they won't), it's all going to be a bit redundant, isn't it?

I'm popping down the town in the week so I might as well poke my head into GAME and snag myself a Keldeo.

Got talking to random guy on my work programme course in-depth about the Pokemon series today, unexpectedly. This has spurred me on to pull my finger out and resume playing at last. Can't even remember what teams I had at the time of writing, should be fun going back.
Also, I'll just drop this here:

May go and pick up Keldeo at our (Now ONLY) gamestation, as I'll probably end up picking up either Black2/White 2. I'll also be headin' in at some point to buy a 3DS, once I've made a decision between the Regular and XL versions anyway. ^_^'

No sign of this in my local Game. I'll try the Gamestation later in the week.

No sign of this in my local Game. I'll try the Gamestation later in the week. Yeah, I went in my nearest Game in the next town and didn't see anything. However, their Mii on the Streetpass told me that they'd recently been playing "Pokemon Distribution 2012", so it seems like they're running it but not advertising it (I certainly didn't see any notices in the store, and it had been open for a good few hours). Not that that makes any lick of sense, mind.

Yeah, it's not like there's another game in the franchise out next month that they could be using this event to advertise or take pre-orders for or anything.

Got my Keldeo today at the GAME in Middlesbrough. Again, no notices or anything to indicate that they were running the promotion; I had to ask about it at the counter. For some reason it makes the promotion look really sleazy; I felt like I might as well have been asking for a copy of Custer's Revenge or one of those other old porno games.

I got it a Meadowhall about forty minutes before the store even opened. Good old Wi-fi.
Then my girlfriend said it looked like something from My Little Pony.
Straight into the box.

Was thrilled about this, up until I read that it's for B2 & W2.

So Black & White 2. So far, so average. Started better than the first Black & White, if only by actually offering some variety. Seems to have a few daily quests, but at the same time I spent nearly three hours doing nothing but leveling up for the first gym. Of four hours total play. Including the obligatory hour of tutorials, explanations, and the unavoidable "here's the beginners guide to Pokémon whether you need it or not" sections.
Teams OK, quite varied for the start, Azuril's the definition of useless mind ¬¬ Already got two gyms done, but now for some grind.
