I did- it was lucky that I did, although I don't know why they didn't give Dialga it to hold in the first place.
I've also caught Uxie without too much trouble, but Azelf is proving to be a real pain with Uproar, and I've spent about 15 Dusk Balls on it before it destroys my team (they're in they're earlier 40's, so I've got a time yet to catch Azelf) but I only get one or two wiggles from the ball, if I'm lucky.

Good luck trying to catch Mesprit.
I still haven't caught one in fact, but luckily I traded a wormadam for one on GTS. I hate runners. Now if I could only catch Cresselia...

Cresselia and Mespirit are the easiest of any of the running Pokemon to catch. The map function on the Poketch is so handy. Only took me about 20 minutes to get Cresselia, including the time going to meet it in the first place.

But I'm lazy and the quick balls don't work, even if they literally have next to no power left!

But I'm lazy and the quick balls don't work, even if they literally have next to no power left! Can't you use Mean Look to prevent them from running? I'm sure Golbats have the move.

I've just got the 2nd badge. My team consists of a level 36 Infernape, and level 22 Staravia and a level 22 Luxio. I'm enjoying this game a lot more than Ruby & sapphire atm.

Just be careful that you're not levelling up too quickly, as some Pokemon refuse to listen to you if you don't have the right badge.

As long as my Infernape obeys me, I think I should be fine. He alone wipes the floor with any trainers I come up against at this point.

Is there a real release date for this in the UK yet?

30th June looks likely.
Seriously, why the wait, when the American version works perfectly fine?

I believe it's because when games see a release in the EU they need to have at least one other EU language besides English so it needs additional translating.
Might be wrong.

Blues is about right, if I recall correctly. They usually wait for French, Spanish and/or German language releases for the UK release.

The Pokemon Company says July. But no specific date.

Does the PAL Park still work, even if the games are from different regions, because the guide says they have to be the same region?

Same language, just. The Japanese D/P wont work with American/European GBA games, but the American D/P will work with UK GBA games and presumably vice-versa.

Have they done that in this game? I never had that in the older games, only with pokemon that had been transfered from another trainer. I had a level 50 something pokemon with only a couple of badges (a number under the "pokemon up to 50 will listen to you") and they never went against my commands. I'm pretty sure the "obey" clause has been in all the games It's not really a case of they wont obey you, they just might not obey you. Some higher level Pokemon will be fine, some will be unsufferable. I used to have a traded Blastoise at level 70 before I had enough badges to have it listen to me and it used to be a bit of a pain. Often Pokemon who dont want to listen will ignore a command and instead use their fave attack (normally the most powerful), or just plain not bother. I really like the contests, I keep entering them XD. Plus I enjoy making poffins far more than I ever liked making those infernal blocks.

Update: Caught Azelf, and beat Volkner, and I'm levelling up before taking on Victory Road.
One question; how do you raise happiness? I've got a Riolu, and I've given him a charm bell to raise happiness whilst I run around, but is there anyway to speed it up?

Happiness raisers and reducers:
* Gaining a level (+2) * Walking 256 steps (+1) * Stat modifiers (+2) * Massages (I forget where the first one is in D/P, there's a second and stronger one available on the Resort Area of the post E4 Island that you can only get to after a Pokemon has 10 ribbons) (+3) * Certain berries (+2) * Luxury Ball
* Level gaining is now +6 * Stat modifiers are now +6 * Walking is now +2 * Grooming is now +4 * Berries are now +3
* Using Soothe Bell (+1 for each other positive event) * Energypowder (-5) * Heal powder (-5) * Energy root (-10) * Revival Herb (-15)
For happiness evolution, their happiness stat has to get to 220 (86%). Wild Pokemon base happiness is generally 70ish for non-legendary first stagers, hatched Pokemon have a base happiness of about 120.

I let him fight lv. 3 battles, as happiness is raised by fighting- it doesn't say what level. Plus, I gave him loads of stat boosters to raise his levels.

I was gonna buy Pokemon Ranger for Manaphy, but if I can get it for free...
I'll probably go and buy Pearl when it's released, just so that I can trade between the two, getting each version's exclusives, etc.

You still need Ranger to get the Manaphy egg.
