Good luck with it, man! I didn't realise that the new STC-O issue is out this week either, doesn't time fly?

Whilst everyone here remembers and loves all the Sonic strips from StC, it also brought us various strips of other Sega games during it's earlier times with games like Wonder Boy, Eternal Champions, Streets of Rage, Sparkster and of course Decap Attack all getting comic strips in StC. Basically, I'm wondering what everyone here thought of these old strips. Did you think they were a good way of adding variance to the comic, or were you only interested in the Sonic strips? Should have there been more of them? Do you think StC shouldn't have stopped them when they did? Do you have any particular favourates? Should we try to convince the StC Online lot to do some of these as part of their comic? *gets evil glares from the staff* Just an idea... it's a good idea they could do billy hatcher and the giant egg, phantasy star online, skies of arcadia or stuff likle that, here's an idea nights anyone ever heard of him.

Of the games I've played recently, the ones I think could translate into great comics - IF DONE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT - would be Splinter Cell and Grant Theft Auto.
Trouble is, neither is Sega and neither would be remotely suitable for a general STC audience...

there was a Nights comic done in America...
Bruning rangers I see being very very good....easy to get a good character dynamic from it.
how about other classic games of 16 bit era. I know 2000AD did a Urban Strike comic which I thought was cool.
Ristar sucked so no to that.
I wouldnt mind taking a dab at a Nights script but it would have to wait a while (currently messing around with a Sonic movie script with a mate for our adaptation course)

Sparkster: Last of the Rocket Knights was easily my favourite.
But then I am a HUGE fan of Rocket Knight Adventures. One of the best games ever.

How would people feel about a Billy Hatcher storyline?

It's not exactly Sonic Team, but Sega- Worms!
*Imagines a Worms strip* HAHA...

Worms would not do that well I don't think. Its a limited strip. Skies OAL would be cool but quite hard to do, maybe Billy Hatcher, I think, is pretty intressting not to far from Sonic but unique enough to stand on its own two feet. What was that story about the elf, a boy, a robot and a half horse half man called, now I liked that one.

Not that its likely to happen, but would F-zero be a possibility? its a Nintendo lisence but the latest game was developed by Sega's Amusement Vision.

You would have to ask Nintendo very pilotly if you are to make an F-Zero story. And they'll say no.

Well, this comic does have the advantage of being unlicensed. However, there is an important desire to remain true and authentic to the original...

It's not exactly Sonic Team, but Sega- Worms! *Imagines a Worms strip* HAHA... I used to draw Worms comic strips when I was younger! They were utter rubbish mind you ;D But back on topic: Decap Attack were the only other strips I used to read. Sparkster and Plunder had their moments also though

Ahh, yes. Sparkster from Rocket Knight Adventures, I played that both games a lot when I was younger. They were rock hard though.

You're not wrong there!
I recently played Sparkster II I think it was, on an emulator... they are really unfair! I couldn't get passed level 1!!

Two words: Alex Kidd.
It would make me SO happy to see this severely underrated Radaxian warrior pummel his enemies into submission after a healthy round of Janken (Rock-Paper-Scissors) once more. ;D

I played on it a lot though (the first one). I got a lot of lives, loads of continues before I finally died (my last life and last continue) at stage 5-2. Well, Penny Arcade are doing a Pandora Tomorrow strip based on the multiplayer (so no Sam Fisher), I haven't seen it so I can't comment on quality, but I think they've got 8 of 16 pages up at Splinter Cell's official website.

Bleh. Pandora Tomrrow is not a patch on the original Splinter Cell, and don't get me started on how much the multiplayer game misses the point...

I really loved sparkster 2, it rocked, especially the final battle, turning into a baddy, funny!
And yeah I like the non-sonic comics as well, really great to see what else was going on in the world!
*Shot for likeing some bad stories*
