Sometimes, Shad, it looks like you love to find some bad pages only for "mockery". Do you know you can also post good pages too? That would be, y'know, interesting! I really feel like I'm the only one here who reads both comics and enjoy them for their qualities, no matter what bad things are in them...(yes, StC had bad things too.) So, I'll post some pages from one of my favourite Archie issue, #175! Sonic, powerless when his friends are vaporized.   Robotnik actually managed to destroy everything, including the Castle of Acorns.  How to destroy someone's mind? By retelling his defeats.  And for once, our hero is defeated.    |

As much as I mock the gak outta Archie, I cannot deny it has some truly awesome moments in it when the writers sober up a little. As Adamis has been proving.
I think it's just the difficulty of that coming on a more regular basis that stops me reading it through entirely.

I feel like i'm saying this every two second but archie has bearly put a foot wrong recently scourge is a brilliant retake on evil sonic bean is a great character, the continuity make a lot more sence eggman and snivley working together again is great eggman destroying knothole and such rouge knuckles... ahh I could go on and on even before that archie was good when it didn't ver to much of course, i suggest everyone reads some new of the current make comment i really which as a fan base we'd pull our snobish head out of our asses sonic the comic is not some holy untouchable grail of compressed awesome.... (alot of the humor is so british it some times bordered on the beano making it only for us, as much as some archie is very american a deal to an american audience... we're not better... were different.) |

It's mostly down to when I tried, I musta went in to a rather bad area. I am always perfectly willing to give something a shot, but the area I tried left me with a rather sour taste of it all.
One of the ways I love STC is more as a fan who has the entire collection and knows the stories already, I know what ones to go back and read again, and which to avoid. Because there were always going to be some bad ones in there.
However with Archie, because I am not as "indoctrined" into it, having not been reading it as the only known comic as a child, I do not know it as such, and thus find it difficult to really get into it after it's been developed and changed so much. This is, I believe when it's easy to look at things wrongly.
If there was a moment to start from and read start to recent which would make sense and avoid the really bad times, then I'm sure I could make more of it.

Start at 160 it kight seem like your comming in mid story, but honestly best place to start |
