Yeah, Echidnia's had at least 4 names since Ive been here ^^
I'll explain my theory on why I don't think Maria will be in STC-O. Maria and Gerald Robotnik wouldn't work, as Robotnik's original name was Kintobor. Because of this, the other 2 would need to change their names, and I don't think it'd work so well. At all. Then, how to fit them in? It's obvious that Gerald didn't create Shadow this time around, and therefore there is no ARK history this time round. It'd just be a problem to have them.
Still, I can't say I'm too disappointed. Never cared for them so much really. The Ebony idea would work very well.

I think in this adaptation of SA 2 the Death Carrier will be the STC equivelent of Ark. If you look at the next issue drawings, you can make out the outline of what seem to be the death carrier blowing up some furrys. What I pridict will happen is that next issue, The Death Carrier will attack metropolis city or give them a 24 hour time limit.

The Death Carrier was always intended to represent the Egg Carrier from Sonic Aventure, though I suppose in this arc it kinda represents the Ark as well, just not consciously.
As for Maria turning up, I've been wondering about that too and I was thinking- wait, I already know if she's turning up or not. nevermind...

Just out of interest Mike there is a number of questions that I'd like to ask you about the death carrier:-
-Did you call it the death carrier because of that stupid eggman nonsense in the resent Adventure games. I mean whats with that. I always though Robotnik would remain with the same name, but now all his machines are called stuff like: Egg Hawk & Egg Hornet &, well Egg Carrier. Was'nt Eggman the japenese name for Robotnik? Anyway I for one am glad that you stuck by the Robotnik name because you know.... his names eggman!
- Also as you said that the death carrier is a bit of both (Ark & the Egg Carrier), does that mean that it will have the eclipse cannon thats powered by the chaos emeralds.

It's just a gigantic floating battleship base, isn't it?
If it has a cannon or any other sort of transformation it'll be revealed in upcoming STCs... but don't hold your breath.

Like I say, if you're expecting specific things from the comic (on the basis that it's been in games, cartoons, fanfics etc), you're just going to be disappointed.
This is, after all, an STC continuation...

Hi Hyper. Well, I'm not Mike, but I did write the story in question. Actually calling it the Death Carrier was another idea of Tom's. I used it. The Egg Carrier just doesn't sound right. STC hasn't used egg jokes for years and I have no plans to do more now. Besides, Death Carrier kind of plays with my theme. As for the Death Carrier, it was conceived before SA2 was released so it won't have any connection to ARK conceptually. It gives a nice echo of the game though, much like the Floating Island falling in #178 nicely echoed SA. Since I don't know what an eclipse cannon is, though, I wouldn't bet on it appearing. Sorry.

It's the cannon they used to destroy part of the moon, I think. Pretty much the same as the Death Egg's auxilliary cannon, which has already been done to an epic degree.

Thanks for the info Ed, and I am really pleased with the fact that Tom called it the Death Carrier as I am no fan of Robotnik's new name in the games. Keep up the good work.

Well it isn't his "new" name. Eggman's been used since day 1 in Japan so really it's more his true name than Robotnik is. But hey, we all grew up with Robotnik. All the egg stuff doesn't bother me really, it's kinda his trademark so I think it's a bit of a shame to neglect it completely.

Eggs-actly.
To be honest I have'nt really heard (or read) Robotnik saying his egg-catch-phrases. The only time that I can remember is in StC Issue 1.

Kitching and Elson wanted to make Robotnik into a serious villain... they thought the character's original appearance and the egg jokes made him look silly, so they scrapped them. The thinking behind "Death Carrier" was very much along the same lines... although I wanted the ship to be painted black, and I think it was just red again (although it was certainly a lot scarier than the one presented in the game). Nothing a quick paint job can't fix, mind
