If it's reasonably priced, I'd consider picking it up. Tried attaching my Mega Drive to my HD TV recently and could barely make anything out.

This would be so much more awesome if there weren't already about 5 compilations of exactly the same games.

Dynamite Headdy? Really? This and SoR makes it a day 1 purchase for me. Nice move, Sega.

Too many games for an inventive achievement/trophy list. Not to mention I already have Sonic 1 and 2, Streets of Rage 2, Ecco 1 and the arcade version of Golden Axe on XBLA.
Still an intensely awesome list.

SEGA have outdone themselves on this one. Dynamite Headdy and S&K have to be in a long list of the best games.

Come to think of it...
No online co-op? If that happens to be the case, collection is redundant.

If you could, XBLA ports = redundant.

I will never understand why anyone would want to play a game like SoR2 online, anyway. The whole fun of the game is the banter between you and the mate next to you. Same with Bomberman, Micro Machines et al.

I will never understand why anyone would want to play a game like SoR2 online, anyway. The whole fun of the game is the banter between you and the mate next to you. Same with Bomberman, Micro Machines et al. Voice chat. Not having someone right there to play. Want to play with someone other than the regulars around you. Feel the need to quell the urge to have a co-op game at 2AM. All reasons why online co-op rocks.

Call me a cynic here, but other than online play, I don't see the point. I wanna play Sonic, or Streets of Rage, I just put the cartridge in my Mega Drive and play it. Old school games on a new gen console.... £40 for games that cost £1 in a charity shop. Wow. Sega know mugs when they see them.
I mean, if they were remakes with enhanced graphics etc I'd understand, but really, it's the same game on a next gen console. It's laughable. I don't mean to be harsh, and I know I sound like a git, but I honestly think the concept is stupid.
Maybe if you got rid of your Mega Drive and have a hankering for the old school games it's fine, but I still have my Mega Drive plugged in so to me it seems a waste of money when if I want to I can play the originals right now.

I've still got my Mega Drive as well but it really, really does look terrible on my TV. Which is why I'd only consider this if it was reasonably priced. £40 for games that I bought 15 years ago isn't particularly reasonable, I feel.

So it's basically just the first Mega Drive Collection with S3K, the SoR trilogy and Dynamite Headdy thrown in. Wahey.
Sad thing is, I'll probably still buy it...
Edit: Ooh, overlooked the part mentioning Master System content. Awesome.

The whole fun of the game is the banter between you and the mate next to you. "WHO PRESSED A?!" "My thumb slipped!" I always loved the question "who pressed A". It's a two player game and if you need to ask then it obviously wasn't you and so there isn't a choice of who it could've been...

If you could, XBLA ports = redundant. Exactly. Apart from the Golden Axe one, since the XBLA version is shinier and prettier but misses the two extra levels. I will never understand why anyone would want to play a game like SoR2 online, anyway. I've played SoR2 online and believe me, I can understand.

But SoR2 and its ilk, which I was referring to ( READ MY ORIGINAL POST INSTEAD OF JUST THE BITS THAT SERVICE YOUR ARGUMENT) seems a bit ridiculous, with the lag and all. Well, there was when I played it. It's not the kind of game you can exactly use tactics in.

Yeah but you can just have a chat. There are a few tools out there, but sometimes you can get a nice little natter going while fighting your way through:

Old school games on a new gen console.... £40 for games that cost £1 in a charity shop. Wow. Sega know mugs when they see them. Reasons why collections are useful. - Finding all these old games in working order will be difficult. - As per your own maths, seeing as there are 40 games, it's not a rip-off. Get it? £1 a game, 40+ games. £40. Plus extras. - All the games in one place. - Save features, so Kid Chameleon is actually possible to beat. - You try finding a copy of Phantasy Star IV, Headdy or Ristar for £1. - Some people never owned a Mega Drive, as you acknowledged. - Bonus features.

What bonus features?
I also cant really see any tactics on SoR going any further than "[censored], press A"
