How many one-off villains did Lew come up with? It's really quite impressive when you think about it - a lot of writers would just reuse the same guys (and okay, Lew did reuse some) but coming up with new ones in almost every story? Where'd he get them all from?
And which villains are everyone's favourite?

I liked Predicto. He was a pretty powerful villain given that he only appeared in one strip, and had some snappy dialogue as well. It was an interesting idea in that an artifical intelligence could feasibly predict what the heroes would do in any given situation based upon Robotnik's data. Sonic's method of defeating him was a bit weak (similar to the escape from Metamorphia's prison), but it worked in the context of the story.
In general I was always a fan of the modified Badnik Troopers - Predicto, Brutus, the generals, etc.

Hmm, allthough Brutus wasn't a one-off, I'd say he was the most successful "bad guy" out of Stringers lot. Predicto is the first that comes to mind besides the obvious ones, but was Arnum Abacus and PLASMA! LORD OF NEGATIVE IONS! and positive ones too but he doesn't like to talk about it! a Stringer story?

"Arnum Abacus and PLASMA! LORD OF NEGATIVE IONS! and positive ones too but he doesn't like to talk about it!"
That sounds like one of my lines but I don't remember writing it. Made me smile when I read it just now though.
Abacus was one of the ideas that came from Rich that I messed about with a little to make if work in a story.
One day I must read some of my old stories to see how good they really were - I think I have enough distance now to have a more objective point of view.

It was one of my favourite lines, to be honest. ;D That's why I remember it, although the specific wording probably isn't right!

I like how in Showdown, Sonic's reaction to Plasma coming back is "Robotnik, you're scrapping the bottom of the barrel now!".

The "Fun Sun Fun" poster in that strip facinated me when I was little, and to this day I have absolutley no idea why.
