I've been interested reading this throughout the day, it's come along as expected, which is saddening but also rather reassuring as far as my own sense of pattern recognition is concerned. So you'll be blowing the dust off the Trial By Combat, eh? That's unexpected, if pointless; the idea of TBC is to keep arguments/discussion seperate so it doesn't clog up the main forum, but everyone knows about this now.
Why hasn't TBC been used before, like recently when I took umbrage with a certain event? It's odd and pleasing how this incident, which is far less one-sided than my objection, got truckloads more responses than my concerted efforts. Of course that issue is over, so please don't look at this as some kind of coat-tail riding, just a basis for comparison. In that respect, I suppose progress is being made, and I've been genuinely impressed with some of the posts mods have made in response to Moo, particularly Kintobor who is excellent. So, while we're not there yet, at least things seem to be looking up.
Hey guys, don't delete my posts. Think I won't notice?
Edit: Also, is the "Report to Mod" button now not working again? I've reported several obviously unacceptable posts recently and they're all still there, unchanged.

Last I heard it works for some people cal retro both said they could see the alert's I have never seen one, if you've still got and issues, r want to mention what came up just drop me a PM and i'll take a look Hope that helps, and i'll look in to the report to mod workings now.
Also which posts were delted, and I assume by your tone you had no warning or explanantion?
The post deletion thing interests me, any deletions now are to be mentioned on the Hume Zone so everyone knows what was in it, or to at least mention it was done.
I wasn't aware of any, Matt's already offered to look into it, but I'd appreciate any feedback on what was in em, PM me, Stu.

I haven't received any Report to Mod messages, I have to say. It looks like it works for some, but not for others... perhaps they're only sent to Mods who are online at the time?
No, it definitely works for everyone. I tested it quite thoroughly. Just when it's dealt with it goes to the archives. There were a few reported posts in and each was dealt with which included one new word going into the filter that was spotted by Stu.

I know it's a long shot, but I've always wanted to be a mod. If you don't want me to be, don't worry, like I said, it's a long shot. Also, can someone put in the feature of putting in your own custom title instead of asking moderators to do it? Cos' half the time no one does it, or they put in a custom title that suits them instead of asking the person first what they would like.
Is that any way to talk to the best possible gamer?
Personally I can get behind a 'guffaw' resurrection.
I guess I just pop on the forum whenever I use a computer...
I'll get back to you in a month.
I estimate (using Ringo's definition nonetheless), that your post will be ignored.
Actually I think we should have control over our own custom titles - it'd reduce the sense of hierarchy wherein the established members all have them and relatively new'uns don't.
First, we have enough mods. Second, people don't ask to be mods. (Except a few, but eh, they're not mods).
The custom title thing, I'm pretty sure I've never seen an option to make it so that everyone has access to change it. That's what the text under the avatar is for. I could be mistaken, but I've looked everywhere.
I have hunted a few times to make it publically changable. So don't think we're trying to keep it exclusive.
I've just yet to find the option, but it's hardly high priority.

Just a quick one, I thought this was a bit hasty. It's a specific subject and it covers multiple games. Putting all game-related content into the "official threads" is just going to flood them and potentially interesting discussions will be buried by whatever point comes up next, not to mention making the forum less eclectic. New threads are better than constantly posting in the same ones.
Whoever put "lol well random" in the swear filter, take it off, it's for swearing, not arbitrary removal of things you dislike.
"That phrase I always say"
Passive-aggressive butthurt, or humourous japes? the world will never know, there are liars on both sides. I am a liar, as are you. This is the internet.
Edit: this doesn't actually matter as I can express my apathy in other ways, but I really hate it when people edit my posts for reasons other than obscenity, it strikes me as vindictive and unpleasant regardless of the intent behind it, which was probably just a joke
Why express your apathy at all? If somebody wants to start a topic about something which you deem as "That phrase I always say", who are you to go in and declare apathy for said thread. Can't you do what most people would do if they see a thread they simply can't be bothered with and just ignore it? There's a fair few threads on here I don't bother to read because they've got zero interest to me, yet I don't go into them and declare "Oh this is boring, talk about something that's interesting to me!" because it would thoroughly annoy the other members of this forum who do actually want to discuss these things.
Which is probably why "That phrase I always say" got filtered, because it's annoying, passive-aggresive butthurt that indicates nothing more than that you have a disdain for a topic you've declared "That phrase I always say" into.
The actual change was a humorous jape, based solely on subverting your consistent and predictable use of "That phrase I always say". It's hardly like this is the first time the mods have played a practical joke with mod powers for a bit of a laugh. I spent two weeks as a banned member for this thread and I graciously took it as a bit of a laugh, even if it was at my expense.
Reading back through this thread, you don't half come across as a whinger. Every little thing that's any sort of unfairness comes across as a complaint, you moan about every single thing, have probably made a [censored]-ton of complaints to mods about absolutely trivial things, and have had more decrys for topic locks when not necessary, and not locking when they actually are necessary that I can't help but wonder if you just like complaining, rather than actually are having these problems. I know I have a tendancy to whinge too, but Christ, your butt must perrenilly ache all the time judging by this thread.
